Plus check out all the new rules regarding parking and arriving separately for 2011 and $15.00 parking passes that are LOCKED down between 9pm - 1am Saturday and Sunday nights.. I know Karena said she drove back and forth hauling stuff and people on Thursday and Friday and it doesn't look like that is doable this year.

When is their cancellation deadline? There are sure to be cancellations so maybe we can get on a waiting list or call the day of their cancellation deadline?

I'm thinking about camping as well. I don't have the energy right now to plan a whole bunch (I'm so sorry guys, I'm just goin through a lot), and it's WAY cheaper to tent camp. Probably will only do Friday-Monday though not Thursday as well. Easier that way. Right now I'm just not too enthusiastic.

Pretty sure you have to have an RV in the space. Why not just get a space in the tent camping area?

No, you can't. You can set up tents outside of the RV in ADDITION to the RV, but you have to have wheels there.

It almost sounded like a good idea till I started checking out the prices. They are ridiculous. SO...that being said, I'm sticking with the decision I made to tent it. The tent sites are HUGE (10X30) this year and I know my CONDO will fit nicely....heck, we can probably get 3 more small tents in one spot.

It's not that I don't WANT to RV it, they are just sold out (of course I could check elsewhere) and I don't have the energy to plan everything right this second. I'm just not really in the spirit right now with everything goin on.

What about Priceline?

What about Priceline?

I think most of them have the dates blocked on priceline and expedia. But if you find a room, book it so you have a back up plan. You can cancel it later if needed. Once the tickets go on sale, the hotels-motels get booked too. What about one of the condos right across from the polo field? split several ways?

oh I knew that.. but I wasn't sure priceline would show availabilty? thought maybe that weekend would be a blackout weekend. Expedia's site shows no availability for some of the locations.
the cancellation idea was referring to reservations made directly through the hotel- motel.

Just fyi - in 2009 I got our hotel reservations from a Coachella guy that had booked *before* they announced the Coachella/Stagecoach dates....He posted it here on our forum and I got a GREAT deal on a hotel room in Palm Springs - when everything was already sold out or priced over my head.

There are always deals out there - depending on your level of comfort and your willingness to travel for them :)

It was a great deal when you had 10-20 people sharing the cost. or the condos across the street, Indian Palms? GSF and his group stay there.

Hey all ok I posted on the FB RV page but I figured I should post here too. I talked to Alberts they have two smaller RVs available - by smaller I mean they sleep one less person - and she said that others may become available. So I am going to confirm prices with her tomorrow. Also I am going to call a few companies tomorrow and see how much they charge - I still want to RV camp but so heres what I need to know . . . who else wants to RV camp?? Both inside and tenting outside. Also I need to kno who can order RV spots this Friday when they go onsale. But again first thing is first I need to know who is In so I know how many spots we need! OK, I might have thought of a solution that can solve two problems... and since this is where you guys are posting on this topic, hear me out and think about it...

My problem... I have a trailer they now wont allow me to tow behind my RV.

Your problem... You dont have a trailer to park in EDII. (are your wheels turning yet?)

If somone tows my trailer into EDII and parks next to me our problems might be solved if your willing to sleep in a tent... They havent outlawed tents in the rv spots as long as there is a trailer in it so you could set up tents in this spot and be able to stay in EDII.

The drawbacks, my trailer is very small and will only sleep one or two people but the plus about a small trailer is it allows more tent space on your 20x50. So basically you could set up tent city on the spot where the trailer is and I would be next door with my RV (shower, shidder, etc.)

I obviously dont have all the details worked out but this is what im thinking right now. Whadaya think? Am i just crazy and this wont work at all?

Ive never used them, but my neighbor stores his RV there for free and they rent it out when he isnt using it and he gets a check. The guy even maintains and cleans his RV after each use. My neighbor keeps pushing me to do the same but i like to keep all my crap in my RV and dont like the idea of other people using my stuff. He says the owner is really cool and i could probably get a direct number if you need it.

What if I got a truck (I can make that work for sure) and pulled the trailer and gave the trailer to Brit and her mom and I tent camped outside with a few others? WOuld that work?

I think i will buy two EDII spots to ensure i can make this work whether one of you take the trailer in or not. I could always get another friend to take the trailer or sell the EDII spot if nothing pans out. Basically dont feel pressured to make any decisions based on my posts! (except for that pesky companion parking pass rule! they really need to sell these individually)

Hey, do you remember my trailer? It clearly falls under the rules of:
* All RVs, trailers & other such vehicles must be classified as a "vehicle made for sleeping" to enter RV camping. But i dont suggest the injured or elderly try to. NO shower or shidder, but i would open up my RV for those who need it. Think tents and bigger tents in the extra space.
