I heard that anyone with a ticket can enter in and out of the camping area even though the are not camping... is that true? if so it doesnt make any sense why they would allow that. we pay so much money for a camp spot and then its a free for all??? i just dont get it

Correct. You MUST have a festival ticket to go into the festival, and a camping pass to go back into the RV area.

BUT...with this years info, it looks as though anyone can get a camping pass, as long as they have a festival pass...so to me...that means EVERYONE has in/out priviledges.

I sure hope they post some ASAP!!! REGARDING THIS!! THIS IS GOING TO BE INSANE.

OR...on the flip side, they take away everyones in/out privlidges :(

I say it's BS. We pay $$$ for the coziness and exclusiveness. I wonder why GV didn't use the old "if it works, don't fix it". This is a recipe for a security nightmare with soooo many more people in the camping areas. Plus they've got to losing a ton of $$$ by letting "visitors" in for free. Maybe they need to take the Wal-Mart approach; sell more for less and make their $$$ in volume. Can I run the camping next year for a commission? Just think of the longer shower lines and dirtier bathrooms with all our extra "guests". It's going to be like taking care of the illegal aliens. We pay, they get the benefit.

people are not going to be sleeping there and using the showers if they are not staying onsite with friends or in their own camping spot. geez, some of you guys are thick...

I agree, this is going to be a cluster FRUCK!!!! We paid damn good money to camp and have the "security" at the gates and now anyone can come in THIS EFFIN SUCKS!!! This is wayyyy to big of a venue to allow EVERYONE WITH A FESTIVAL TICKET INTO THE GROUNDS! I agree that people will be trecking thru and just passing out and sleeping until the am.

And so much for clean showers and bathrooms! It was bad enough each year with no TP and dirty toilets! Hope they hire more people to stock every hour ON THE HOUR!!

last year when you did the rv thing.... did they ask your name and everyone who was with you? or just your name?

from what i understand not anyone with a festival pass is going to be able to get a camping pass. I remember reading somewhere that the person that has the camping ticket also has to have all the people that will be camping in their spot with them when they show up to set up their spot. you only get the number of passes for the number of people that are with you. so you have to all show up together...

I specifically asked what if I'm camping and I show up later than my party, he said as long as you have a festival ticket you can get in. I said, "wow, sounds like anybody can get in, even if they're not camping" he said " yes". I really really really hope that's not correct info!

NEW FOR 2010: Spots are what is being sold. Each CAMP SPOT is HUGE - a 10x30 (300 square feet!!) spot on a beautiful serene grassy area offering quiet private surroundings. All camping amenities included. You can visit any of the other RV areas too. You can fit as many people into your tent as will fit. Each camper must have a festival ticket.

Hopefully they change this back next year as it's too late to remedy anything this year. Maybe I'll go buy some "No Trespassing" signs and pepper spray to fend off the riff-raff. I really don't think it's gonna be a huge issue. I doubt many people if any are just gonna go randomly and hang out in the RV's/tent camping. I think it will be mostly invited people there. As far as stuff getting stolen, you can still have your ish stolen with the people camping in the RV's as with outsiders. IDK, I think I'm the only one who doesn't think this is gonna be a HUGE issue. But only time will tell, right? :)

All I know is that last year you got a Camping wristband and they only allowed campers with wristbands into the campsites...or thats the rule but in my experience the people they hire to enforce the rules arent too strict...so who knows!
