Ok, so you don't have to rummage through every thread here (although I suggest you stay awhile, it's a great group) I will help ya out a little.
Things to bring check out that thread for sure on here (I know I said i wouldn't make ya, but that ones important). Yes, it's REALLY hot during the day (I poured water over myself all day) and REALLY cold at night. Typically you'll bring a backpack and chairs and towels/small blankets to claim your "spot". You can leave your stuff there if there are people sitting by you trust. Bring a pair of pants and a sweater for the night. That blanket saving your spot can come in handy too. Sunblock is important too. Beer is $7 and mixed drinks are about that up to $9 I think. Food...think of Fair food prices or venue prices. Everything is like that. You can easily drop $200-$300 in cash in those 2 days.
The line-up is typically announced just before the festival, so wait for that. You'll want to get in early to claim a "close" spot (none are really close, but you have screens). WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. You will be walking a lot. I wear flip-flops, but those are comfy to ME.
Helps to bring A little TP in your backpack too. You can bring in closed water bottles (or at least last year you could). Welcome!

Welcome!
Pretty much what chevgirl said. Be sure to check out the "what to bring" thread! I don't remember if it's here in "questions" or if it's in the camping one? But it will help either way.
I'd say definitely bring a chair. You COULD "tough it out" but it's a long day!
Comfy shoes FOR SURE! I don't know how some people do their boots all day long - but maybe they just have super comfy boots!?
You're gonna have F-U-N!

if your someone who plans on buying a lot of beer at the show and also getting up to pee alot (they kinda go hand in hand), then i suggest when you stake out your spot you get it off to one side or the isle. if you stake out a spot right in the middle you will have to walk accross 3-400 feet of other peoples blankets and chairs and, depending on how many beers you have, you might not find your spot again. pick something next to a landmark you can spot over peoples heads. I for one am looking for a spot near the budweiser booth, close to the bathrooms, and arms reach from the churro vendor.
