Hello layaway folks...
Here is an update.....
**UPDATE - ATTENTION EVERYONE - Please DO NOT log into your layaway account to make a new payment. Payments will be deducted automatically on or soon after the scheduled dates.
If you ignore this warning and go in to make a payment you will be charged the remainder in full with no refunds.
Again, DO NOT GO IN AND TRY TO MAKE A PAYMENT MANUALLY. Let the automated payment come out on it's own as it is meant to be.
Thank you everyone :)

Interesting - I recieved a call last week saying my Jan did not go through (no problems at all with CC from what I could see ). I gave them a New CC - and was told that the payment would go through for Jan same day - and that FEB would go through this week. Non of this happened. I paid my balance in full today - just happened to be looking at the boards. I would suggest that Visa/Mastercard/ any other major credit card while perhaps allowing a double charge to go through - WILL remove it from your record upon calling - filling out the form they will send you. MC and VISA will not allow for a double charge on the same product IMO. It's likely to cause TM or GV some headaches because they will have to research their records - and own up to the double charge. Just my DON'T PANIC thought....

Oy. I talked to someone (Kristen?) last week and gave her my NEW credit card information. She told me that both layaway payments (Jan & Feb) would be pulled from that new card on 2/9/09. She assured me that nothing would be charged to my OLD credit card.
But - on 2/5/09 Golden Voice processed a single charge against my OLD credit card (a VISA debit card linked to my OLD checking account) and now that account is overdrawn....
And here it is, 2/10/09, and nothing was charged to my new account yesterday as advised.
I'll be patient (I'm good at that!) but it it incredibly frustrating to read/hear one thing and have exactly the opposite happen....
Countrygurl, thanks for your help with all this - I'm sure no one thought there would be this many problems with offering layaway. And I'm still VERY appreciative that layaway was offered - it will all work out in the end ;)

Yeah, I guess if you go in and pay in full then you can just put in a dispute to your CC company about the double charge if it shows up. I work closely with a CC company and put thru tons of charges daily...and we get disputes at times..and we have to show if they were charged accordingly and if not then they get refunded, and if I don't reply in time, they credit them back anyway, even if I am correct on my charges.

Not sure where you think you will be double charged, kymery dont worry you wont be double charged.
The warning is because when people choose to not wait for the next payment to be taken out, and they log in to make a payment, it does not allow you to put in an amount and will charge you the remaining balance. Seems some people not ready for that. Hence the warning.

more updates :)
February payments were mostly processed yesterday, the remainder will be processed today (unless any further glitches, in which case, will bleed into the next day). The system had a glitch and we have been working to resolve the problem and finish them today.
March and April payments should be processed on the 9th of both months assuming no further glitches.
As for January issues, we apologize for any inconveniences that may have arisen. It is a new system. We assure you we are doing our best to accommodate everyone who has had issues.

Oh...noooo..not me. I paid for my camping in full and have tickets. But..I was just saying to the last poster they they were just going to go online and pay off in full anyway, and deal with a possible double pmt that you informed may happen just so they are SURE to have everything paid for and done and not worry anymore. Sorry if it sounded confusing.

My update (as of Wednesday p.m.)....
One charge to my OLD credit card (which caused my account to overdraft, since I was told it wouldn't happen.....)
One charge PENDING to my NEW credit card.
I'm assuming those two drafts would cover the Jan. & Feb. layaway payments. I'm also assuming that all future payments will come out of my NEW account.
You know what happens when you ASS-U-ME, right???
Still smiling here, tho ~ SC09 is comin' SOON!!!!
