I read where the parking is a long way from the entrance, do they have shuttles or can you drop off someone and then park?

it's not really that far. pretty sure the lot doesn't really accommodate drop off's, though. you may be able to request a cart be sent to your car, though, if a person is in need of assistance.

Last year, it was maybe a half mile from the car to the festival grounds, depending on when you arrived. If you arrived later in the day, the walk was much longer than if you arrived early (or if you camped -- you had to walk by all or most of the camping areas to get to the entrance, so you can kind of use the campground map on the Stagecoach site and estimate your walking distance by going beyond the edges of the camping areas).

Important to note also, I think, is that you are not walking on paved surfaces -- it's a very, very dusty walk. I saw a lot of people regretting their shoe choices!!

The walk WAS far if you were handicapped or injured, like I was. The handicapped lot was full very early on and I had to trek quite a ways with a foot that I just had surgery on. I asked the people patrolling in golf carts if they could give me a ride but they couldn't, per insurance violation. But some local guy had his own golf cart and was making runs for $10. It was so worth it!

Could you bring a bicycle. Ride it from your car to the entrance and chain it to something near the entrance. Would that work?

Adequate handicap parking needs to be provided. Hopefully, the promoters learned something from their failure to do so last year and have made changes to correct the problem this year. I read a similar complaint to yours on this board a month or so back, someone who was told the handicap lot was full and turned away. She was given no option.

This year, as per the Rules/FAQ page, I intend to pull into Lot #1 and park in the handicap section with my ADA placard. I've got a badly broken knee and will be using crutches to get to my reserved seat at the event. If the promoters are unable to provide the necessary parking, they certainly need to have a "Plan B" to assist folks who just plain CANNOT make the walk.

best bet is to get there early then, because even if they provide adequate handicap parking it is still possible for it to fill up. i have been knocked to the back at plenty of events, especially at places like angel stadium or the honda center.

I didn't think parking was all that far away for non-handicapped. Parking area is what I'd consider typical for country fairs, i.e. grassy pasture, fairly well mowed but not smooth. No idea of arrangements for handicapped. Most that I know wouldn't have had any problem last year. (Wouldn't have kept some from complaining. I know one who complains when she's able to park right outside the door. Never figured it out personally. Maybe she just enjoys complaining.)
