i am not going to SC this year but i have camped at Lake Cahuilla for SC before for SC '10-'11. Only issue we had with them was at SC '11 regarding the "2 car rule"....there were 4 of us in our group that year, myself and one friend had driven up there together in my car, my cousin was driving up from San Diego (in car #2) and my friend was driving down on Saturday and meeting us there at the festival, after which she would follow us back to our campsite (so we would end up having 3 cars there). When we spoke to the front gate guard at the campsite, she told us that would be okay as long as we had paid $10 extra and my friend had the sticker to let her in. OK, no problem, we paid for my friend, and when she found us at the festival, we gave her her sticker for her car. Well naturally we all got separated after the festival in the crowd getting to our cars and the fiasco getting out. I remember getting a call from my friend in car #3 at around 1 am, stating that she was at the front gate to the campground and they weren't letting her in, even though she had the sticker to show she had been paid for. I get out of bed and go to the front gate. Different guard there since that same morning. They tried to tell us that my friend had to park her car farther away and walk back in. I argued with them that it was 1 am, PITCH DARK out, and we had already paid the extra money to have a 3rd car there like we had been told by the other guard that we were allowed to do. I also told the guard that my friend was 2 months pregnant at the time (i wasn't lying, she was) and that in good conscience, i couldn't let her park farther down and walk back in the pitch dark when ANYTHING might happen to hurt her and the baby. In the end the guard told us she would let my friend in but that she would have to get up in a few hours and move her car to the farther away parking lot to avoid getting ticketed/towed. No one ever came by to ticket and/or tow her car.....

but other than that, it was a pretty good place to stay and we had no other problems with them. There are showers there but you have to pay 25 cents to use them, and hopefully you're staying towards the back of the campground cause the front is party central (<--unless you want that!! I had a spot in the front one year and a spot in the back the other year and up in the front, it was hard enough getting there at 1 am when you're tired and just wanna sleep but your camping neighbors wanna keep the party going. Then AGAIN, we always tent camp cause none of us have access to an RV so if you have an RV, you won't be able to hear their partying anyway)

    sorry for the novel........
