    Default Taxi or shuttle?

Hey everyone! I am trying to decide between buying a shuttle pass or just taking a Taxi from the hotel to the event. I read how the shuttles work but just wondering if trying to get a taxi will be ridiculous. I will be staying at a hotel that has a shuttle pick up location on site but cabs are cheaper! Any advice or past experience is much appreciated!

You've never been here before. Cabs are NOT cheaper.

I would do the shuttle if you don't want to drive in. My mom and I had to take a taxi back to the hotel last year after losing her wallet/keys. we stayed at the motel 6 in palm desert and it was about a $35 cab ride not including tip

We are staying over at Cathedral City (18 mile) from Stagecoach. Should we grab a cab or drive?

It depends if you plan on drinking responsibly or not Palm Desert is about 8 miles away(about 10-20 min from venue) and its a 30-40 dollar cab fare each way so I would at least double that from cathedral city.

Shuttle = without a doubt. A lot depends on if you have reserved seats or GA. If GA, you have to get there before the sun comes up (well, maybe not quite that early) so you may as well just drive and park close by. If you have reserved seating then you don't have to wait in line for 4 hours just to get in and get a good spot, so you can arrive anytime. I like that the shuttle just does the work for you and they get in and out of the venue much more quickly. The first year I went, we took a taxi and the drop off was so far from the venue, we had to walk forever..... no fun. And trying to get a cab when you want to leave - forget it. We waited over two hours.. they may have changed things by now, but I never wanted to chance it again...
