Exclamation Red Solo Cup no more

Last year, we and our friends were in the front row of El Dorado 1 with an awesome display of red solo cup lights and curtains. Our friends own their RV. We rented ours. We planned a repeat for this year. Then SC screwed it up by not allowing rentals because they do not promote a "personal and "intimate" atmosphere in the RV "Resort." They have lost four VERY good customers who were willing and able to fork over plenty of cash so we could enjoy it again as we have before. None of us will ever return to SC.

Can't you people enjoy a festival without being drunk?

What are you a prohibitionist. Country music and drinking is a cultural norm. Its 5 o'clock somewhere! And I see nothing in this thread about being drunk.

It's not about enjoying the music without being drunk. Eliminating the ability to camp or stay in an RV with friends dramatically increased the costs for this festival. Right now it would cost me 150 dollar a night to stay at the Super 8 motel in Indio. That's $600 in hotel costs (taxes not included), plus $75 per person for shuttle tickets for my wife and I. Thats $750.00 for lodging and transportation, compared to what, $150.00 for camping last year? Thats a $600.00 price increase. I'm not one to complain about the cost of a 3 day general admission ticket, as I think $240 for three days is reasonable. But the idea of spending $1250.00 (admission + lodging + transportation) just to attend Stagecoach is absurd to me.

How did you come to the conclusion that we were drunk? My comment is about the fact that our rented RV is no longer welcome at the Stagecoach RV Resort. We hung red solo cup lights and curtains around our sites last year as a creative nod to Toby Keith's (at the time) current single. Can't you read a post for what it is -- and not make assumptions that are incorrect?

Yes, that's us. The cups were waiting for display again this year; so sad it won't be happening.

We planned to transform our spots into a pontoon (party in slow motion) . . . but our rented RV isn't welcome
