To keep being creative to get around the ridiculous rules made each year just supports what they are doing to us. I will take my creative money to Country Thunder in Arizona, but I do sincerely hope that everyone who goes to Stagecoach has a good time, I've had some great memories there (and pictures and stories of things I don't remember).
I want to rock and roll all night...and part of everyday
You know you'll be missed Adam! Especially the super short jortsThe festival is changing & evolving. They make big changes each year and work to fix issues and accomodate as many as they can. We'll see if anything changes but if not, those who go will have fun & those who choose to go to another event will have fun too.
Yep, our group of 20+ has been going for 5 years in a row and we're not going this year. The jacked up cost for RV spots and not allowing tents on the site is ridiculous. Looks like we're heading to Vegas April 7 for the ACMA's.
TOBY TOBY TOBY TOBY
After all these years, I am out!! We will be house boating the same weekend at Lake Powell now. All these rules have made is impossible for our entire group of around 30 to go. Sayonara SC, it was a good run.
Unclefieny. country Thunder released additional camping today after they received an influx of calls because of pissed off stagecoachers. Call them! You can get a 4 day 19X40 site for $179!!!
I'm not bitter just so very disappointed. This was my yearly "camping" trip with my kids and their friends. Every year we have such a blast. The line up is good for two days, but weak for three. I'm going to spend my money at a beach house in the summer instead and just play my music loud! See Ya, Stagecoach. It was a good run while it lasted. For those going, I hope y'all have a great time.

Yea, my husband and I too. With all the campsites having electricity, and no break on ADA... we just can't afford the extra on such short notice. Having been forced to take an early retirement because of the economy, we saved just enough for our annual treat.
All the past years we used to read through the forum to see if people missed out on a site and offer them a spot on our rv site in one of our tents or their own. We would take them or their gear, cook some of their meals, let them use aux batteries for hair dryers and phone chargers. And we sure made some great friends. We were never that crowded and always respectful of our neighbors who would often join us for the margarita and taquito bar in an early afternoon waiting for the concert. Such easy and good times.
But also, I as an ex journalist and child of the 60's... the application you have to fill out strikes a wrong chord with me. A sense of expected anonimity and privacy is missing in the pre selection process.
I am uncomfortable handing out my driver's license and insurance info before I am selected. And even though I am not a felon, nor have ever been, nor as far as I am aware, are any my friends, it just hit as beyond the pale that you are to post this information. I also do not understand the need to fill out a 1000 word or less essay as to why my application for an RV spot be considered..
... Ahh but then in a political year I am one that does not believe in more government, nor an intrusive one.
So, a new era enters..and I am afraid this time I shall view vicariously ...enjoying from the sidelines, through your posts on the forum. We will miss ya 'all !!

We were looking forward to Stagecoach this year. $1500.00 for 3 days don't work.. Adios Stagecoach. You've priced your show beyond rediculous. We're out!!
I think the problem people have is with not being able to camp unless they own an RV, so if you've got yourself one, I definitely think you should go to Stagecoach. Like I said previously, I'm not one of the bitter people that wants to boycott. I'd go if I could afford to buy an RV, but paying $40,000 for culinary school kinda puts a hurting on my savings at the moment.
I think it's funny how mad some people are getting. Goldenvoice is a business, they need to do what they feel is best for the company and I'm not going to pretend to know reasons for things that they're doing, but I'm sure they have their reasons which I respect, wish them the best of luck, and thank them for all the good times in the past.
I don't feel bad for anyone here except for countrygurl who has to deal with all the fall out here. We still love ya, countrygurl!

thanks uncle. <3
This is what I wrote on The Corral:
"I think everyone needs to sit back and relax. Think about it. The two weeks prior, is Coachella with all the camping and infistructure, (showers, food, shuttles, roads, etc.) all in place. It makes no sense to put this all in place just to take it down for Stagecoach. I find it hard to believe that they will sell out all the acreage at the ED1 price. As you see they are calling it RV resort.
I believe this is a presale, so to speak. They will come through with the other options down the road. The best one can do is sit back and wait as they still need 55 or 60 thousand people to fill the venue. Their isn't that many country music fans in that valley to sell out the event or enough motels for non campers."
The way it structured, I believe there will be other offerings after this application process is done. My 2 cents.
$800 in fuel?? 2 travel days? It's a 5 hour drive, and I can do that on $70 each way (how do you come up with $400 in gas each way???). 4 people per car and that is CHEAP. $99 for FOUR days of music, and only $121 for 4 nights in a hotel. Yeah, I think I'm good.
No matter what they say I've done, I ain't never had too much fun!
