Country Thunder. Purchased 2 tickets with meals, 50 amp service in big rig lot right next to stage w private entrance. And we can take our dogs. And gas in Arizona is cheaper. Our final cost was the same as 2 P2 tickets to Stagecoach. You can drive in and out with a vehicle also.

Agree with all being said, except, I think the line up is great this year! But, I love a little twang sometimes. Didn't get a campsite either, but will be able to tag along with friends that did. I have my own RV, but the no rental (or using a friends RV) policy is utter discrimination.

Yep. We are out too. This thing has gotten amazingly expensive and way too many rules. With all the costs we can expect to pay this year, i think we'll take that money and go to Hawaii instead. (Yes, it's about the same cost for us)

$800 in fuel is easy to spend pulling a 5th wheel or driving an RV.. When pulling my 5th wheel, I get about 6mpg. Costs me a tank up and a tank back... $110+ in fuel, each way. And I live close. Now, take that into consideration with all the other costs, liquor, food, water, tickets all the way around for the wife and kids. It can get VERY expensive fast. Last year it was about $1500. We are done! I'll take my money and have a vacation instead. Y'all have fun but I can't (won't) do it this year.

Why does it bug you so much GPS? The majority of the attendees are put out and are trying to relay the message to the promoters why they cannot attend the festival. The hope is this gets read and change can be made. We all know these threads get read and also know change is made each year.

Besides, is any more useless than a thread about belt buckles?
I got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory, and wouldn't you know it, the army cuts my disability pension because they said that the plate in my head wasn't big enough.

AMEN - kuznedy. Or is it less useless then all the retarded picture post threads?? It's just a matter of time before GV finds the 1 thing that can possibly irritate even their biggest supporters on here. The proof Is in the pudding as this board was alive and out of control with members online and posts every few seconds the day before tickets went on sale in prior years. At this point the unhappy fans far outweigh the few happy fans. I agree with you that they read and monitor this forum and hopefully they will pay attention unless they truly want to try and just get a new fan base every year or just to keep the fans that don't pay the camping and never have and/or the fans that just buy GA and only spend $243 a year to attend as opposed to those that buy several spots and P1 tickets and spend over $3k at their event every year and come back with more pp every year...

You know what drives me the most crazy about taking away tent camping/RV rentals - is that last year was the first year there was not a separate wristband for camping - anyone could go into the camping areas. Now they are saying last years camping area/partying was out of control - well maybe if you had actually only let campers in things would have been better. It's like they set it up to be chaotic so that they would have a reason to take it away.

I agree with CaliGirlUCR.....I also believe that part of the Stagecoach experience was the meeting people (we met tons), seeing all the crazy stuff people wore (especially then men, lol) and the crazy things people did (the See Saw!!!!).
I have been to lots of country concerts and people started "partying" early (meeting people, drinking, playing games etc) for a 7 PM concert, people started showing up at 11 AM.
I believe they took away a lot of the "experience" of Stagecoach, and I read the article regarding GoldenVoice and I think it was wrong for him to compare us to Coachella....Like someone said we don't need to use X or glow sticks to enjoy the music.

Trying to find a place to stay that isn't going to cost me 2 months pay and then getting to and from the festival safely took a lot of the fun out of it. I bought my tickets, will try and go in with a positive attitude and take it from there.....But I hope they SERIOUSLY rethink the no rental RV's and tents next year.

Dear GPS... You have a wonderful and imaginative sense of humor, so often gallant and so often make me want to know the person behind the typeface....and I assume by your forum name you may possibly live close enough to go to the festival without the added expense of accomodations...

But for those, like myself who aren't as lucky... what may be an annoyance to you to 'announce' our not attending this year's festival is for many, not said on a bitter note, but a nostalgic one and is a callout to those who we cannot contact other than via this forum.

For many of us it is the only way to let those whom in previous years we have met up along the way and carpooled with, arranged potlucks with, ordered teeshirts with, decorated our rigs with - know that this is the year you cannot count on us to be there.

What developed over the years in a shared camaraderie of a festival, becomes a reunion, and although I know the faces and names, I do not know the phone numbers. So I am thankful that I can tell those who may have depended on me to help out or bring things , that our budget and not my heart is not allowing us to go. (ha ha unless they bring back ADA dry camping - heck I love to 'rough it' a little - if you can call sleeping in an RV & not having sewer and electric rough.

When I read you were at the Kenny Rogers stage, last year I scrolled through all my pics to see if I could spot YOU, not Kenny... For whatever reason, you have always reminded me of the hero in a very old silent film called Metropolis... and I finally wanted to see if you matched my perception .. Maybe next year.

This forum is so different from the Coachella forum. Pretty much everyone here is easy going and friendly and doesn't seem to need to put people down for what they have to say. Much better not to read the thread than get yourself so upset.

Congratulations to all those who were lucky enough to get accepted for camping , and those who got tickets for the festival. Have a wonderful time. I will keep my eyes open for you on the forum.

So, I take it you are officially announcing that you aren't going either? OK. BTW - I drive to Fontana every NASCAR & INDY Car race, without having to camp. Parking is a long walk. Traffic is slow. You can't bring beer into the raceway. It's a long drive every day, but I keep myself entertained.

I've been visiting the camping areas every year except 07. Hopefully this ole lady has not become the problem. The tent campers have every right to be pissed off. In no way shape or form could the price compare to any hotel or RV resorter.

That is what is so confusing to me and many others. It's been $250.00 plus fees plus etc to RV camp. So that is like 280 290? That is more than I pay for my hotel room and that is if I stay alone. Didn't have a clue that so many people rented RV's rather than owned (seeing all the complaints).

I think GPS is super cute. Same thing with KuznEdy. Married or Gay, all the good ones well are...good...but not available.

It has been a really rough couple of weeks. GOD FORBID you posted something positive on Facebook Stagecoach. Attacks are many and it got vicious and still is. It's difficult to see a thread here with the title of "I'M OUT".

ahhh.. yes but you say you keep "yourself" entertained... So no need to let anyone you meet up with know if you are coming or going. Especially if they are depending on you to bring tables, etc. many of us do this for Stagecoach - so the forum is a perfect place to say sorry not this year.Particularily if you don't have numbers, and arrangements are ongoing year after year.

But on a serious note. We are about a mile from the Speedway.. you are welcome to stop by, have a beer in our very lovely garden, my hubby and I even have an extra room to crash in or a spa to relax in afterwards. And if we aren't out we can drive you to the speedway and drop you off. I can PM you our phone number should you wish to take us up on the offer
