    Default Generators

My husband is setting up our 5th in International and was told we are not allowed to use our generator. I have not seen that information on the Stagecoach site. How are we supposed to cook and make coffee and light our rig at night? This is upsetting news! What gives? Unless you are in ED1, you are DRY camping and that requires a generator!

is it a portable one? if so, it's on the main site, not sure how you could miss it. right there in the "camping rules/faq" section:

    http://stagecoachfestival.com/event/OCR

    NO Chains/Chain Wallets
    NO Drugs & Drug Paraphernalia
    NO Knives/Weapons
    NO Pets
    NO Refunds Or Exchanges
    NO Video Cameras
    NO Audio Recording Devices
    NO Bota Bags
    NO Professional Cameras
    NO Portable Generators
    NO Fireworks/Explosives
NO Golf carts, dune buggies, off road motorcycles, segways, horses
    NO Spray Paint

and again further down the same page:

"Are generators allowed into the onsite RV camping ?
Only generators that have been factory installed on your RV are permitted. Indio Fire Department has banned the use of portable generators for the safety of all festival camping attendees."

Well thanks for pointing that out, Cooter. We've camped every year and have always used the generator that sits in our truck, so I don't really think of it as separate from our 5th wheel. And I didn't read through carefully enough, I guess. It still sucks. I'm going to have to find a good neighbor or a different way to make coffee in the a.m. or it's gonna get scary!

Hopefully you can make friends with a neighbor with a built-in generator and they will let you plug into them. May cost you some fuel or money but well worth it. I would doubt that there wouldn't be someone willing. I let people plug into my motorhome in the desert all the time so I don't have to listen to loud generators. Only bummer is you probably won't have any air conditioning.
