They set up power supply at the end of your 20x50ft spot. So you will need a cord long enough to reach to this spot. If your 25ft cord reaches about 10ft past the front or back of your trailer/motorhome, you should be fine as long as you park your rig as close to the end as possible. 75ft is a safe number for them to say and cover their asses. Definately bring an extension cord and adaptors just to be safe!

You can get away with a regular extension cord and a couple adaptors as long as your power consumption is equal to the extension cord rating. I am hesitant to say this because most regular extension cords are 15amp. This is fine for running the fridge, all your lights, a microwave, hair dryer, and your AC, BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME!

Picture this... If electricity was a water, then your 30amp power supply would be a garden hose. Now if you use an extension cord thats rated to 15amp you dont have a garden hose you now have a large straw. You still get water, but not as much. get the picture? The problem lies when you try to suck the amount of water you would get through the garden hose through your straw... It doesnt work and you break your straw (in this case trip a circuit breaker).

If you (or anyone reading this) has to use a smaller extension cord. Just dont run all your stuff at one time. And you should be fine. Wanna test it out? Try it at home first. Plug your RV into your extenion cord and plug it into a wall socket at home. Run everything that you plan to use and if you dont trip that circuit, your good to go. Most home outlets are 15-20amp (Execpt, Microwave, laundry, and maybe a garage outlet)

By the way, the adaptors you will need are going to be a 3-blade 30amp female to 15amp "house" male to hook your rv to the extension cord, then what they call the "reverse" which is a 15amp "house" female to a 30amp 3-blade male. Both can be bought for about 5bucks at any RV place like camping world or somthing. If you wanna be super safe, you can also find a used 30amp power cord on craigslist under "boats" and search for "shore power" or "30amp". Lots of people sell them down by the marina (LA, OC, or SD)

    HOpe this helps!

I got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory, and wouldn't you know it, the army cuts my disability pension because they said that the plate in my head wasn't big enough.

I contacted stagecoach regarding the power cord. I asked if I can attach a couple of shorter cords to make the 75' cord. They said its fine. I have 2 about 25-30 footers and I'm going to buy a third to make 75' then wheni get there i'm only going to connect however many I need to reach the outlet. I'm hoping I won't need the third and I'll just return it after stagecoach.

Everyone please keep in mind the power ratings on the cords you plan to use and do not exceed them! Its both dangerous and if you trip your breaker, three other people tied to your box loose power until you can find the CAT engineer and have him reset it. This could take some time and piss your neighbors off. And if they reset it more than once, they reserve the right to remove you from the power grid.

I completely agree. My cords are all Rv power cords so 30 amps no prob. Last thing I would want to do is trip the breaker, I'm sure someone will.

Thank you all so much for your help and input! I think we're going to buy a 50ft and hope we don't need it and return after the weekend. Thanks again!!
