rv pass and wristband matching.

this is what someone posted on one of my other threads.

"I also emailed Stagecoach to find out if we could switch camping passes. I got a reply that only said yes it was OK and no mention of switching wristbands as well. I found a woman to switch with & she called FrontGate who told her we needed to also switch a wristband. I called FrontGate and verified this. The rep I spoke with told me that you should also switch a wristband as the wristbands and camping passes have RFIDs that will be scanned on entry. The RFID is connected for wristbands and camping passes that were placed in the same order, no name information is stored - but order information is stored. When both are scanned upon entry the RFID in the camping pass must match the driver's RFID in the wristband. I asked what would happen if we did not switch wristbands and was told that you could possibly be denied entry. I sent another email inquiry to stagecoach to see what they have to say about this. I will let you all know if I do get a reply.

so according to front gates you MAY be denied if you dont have a wristband that was purchased with the rv pass. if this is the case ALOT of people are going to be pissed that have purchased just an RV pass from someone. the person that posted this also said they are double checking with stagecoach. i will also double check and will post back with there answer.

How can we check this with Stagecoach??? As I don't believe ANYTHING Front Gate says. You are right there will be ALOT of people pissed off, since all the scalpers bought the RV passes so the rest of us had to pay out the ass for our passes. Hope CountryGirl can clarify this for the rest of us.

the rv pass is just a sticker... there is nothing on it to compair it to the wristbands...

correct. there is a RFID chip in the back of the pass just like there is a RFID chip in the wristbands. so im waiting to hear from stagecoach via email

I purchased my RV pass from my girlfriend who isn't going after all, I already had 3 wristbands. I saw on the Stagecoach Forum someone posted that if you buy a RV Pass from someone else that you must also have a wristband from the same order because the wristband and RV pass have same RFID on them. Is this true? What if she already sold all her wristbands to someone else? Can we still get into ED 1.
I need to know asap!!!!

Thanks for contacting Front Gate Tickets!

Camping passes are non transferable by themselves. They will only work when scanned with the festival pass it was ordered with originally. If you bought multiple festival passes and one camping pass, the camping pass will only be valid with the first one from your group that arrives. This is to help thwart scalping of camping passes and making camping available to actual onsite campers.

Ya i totally understand what frontgates is saying. but i want to get actual answer from stagecoach/goldenvoice. front gates may be correct on the wristbands and camping pass being linked, but stagecoach may not really be enforcing/checking this. they might just check to make sure each is valid. thats why i was answer straight from stagecoach/goldenvoice themselves.

IF that's the case, there are hundreds and hundreds of people who will be screwed. Not scalpers or ticket sellers, but those that bought them unaware. Heck, I have many friends who are in our group who won't be able to get it.

Countrygurl, can you weigh in? I have a friend who bought a camping pass of of one friend in our group who can't go, and a GA pass off another friend in our group who can't go. Both face value, not scalped, just couldn't go. Does this really mean she'll be denied entrance? Oh, and at that, she's not even GETTING there til Friday night, so I'm having another friend use that camping pass on Thursday morning so our spots are all together.

I think maybe this rule for Coachella is in place, but I just can't believe this would be happening for Stagecoach. It will leave THOUSANDS without a spot. (Ok, maybe hundreds, but still).
