How is this going to be enforced? Are they literally going to go through all of your stuff if you are camping?

I was wondering the same. In past years for tent camping you just walk in and they look in the cooler but its been pretty lax. This year with Car camping are they going to look through the cars? Maybe the RVers have some insight?
SC 2010, 2011 & 2012! "Old enough to know better, but still too drunk to care"
I noticed they are also going to have police checkpoints anywhere from a mile around the venue? Just seemed a little excessive and I didn't see how they would search everyone's car before entering... the lines will probably already be ridiculously long...
We've taken an RV every year. The last two years was the only time they actually searched our RV. They looked around and as long you were reasonable with the quantity of liquor or beer you brought in they didn't hassle. I'm pretty sure they won't search until you get inside the grounds like previous years.
"She changed her mind when she couldn't change me..."
My friends and I were wondering the same thing. Teasing about how if they unpack our cars they better pack them back! Haha.
In the RV area they do a quick sweep of you RV and if you have a truck with a trailer then both your truck bed and RV. They are pretty cool about it, but im not sure how it will be this year as they are actually allowing hard alcohol also.
If you are in the RV area, especially ED2 be ready for LONG LONG lines and wait to get in. They check every RV. Just grab some beers, put on some music, and chill on the roof. Last year i paid one of the flaggers and he put me in the first row of people so i went right in.. JUST A HINT ;-)
My group has a small pop up camper, are they going to make us open it up to search it? The majority of our stuff is going to be in the bed of the truck but there are storage cabinets that you can't get to unless it is open.
Stagecoach 2012! I don't think it can get any better!

yes, they do search everything... last year the went through the rv top to bottem... had me unlock the storage under the rv too... but from what i can tell they search tent camping worse! just follow the rules and you will be fine!

I brought a pop up two years ago... I just opened the side door for them to look inside and they were cool with that. Hope they are that cool again.
I got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory, and wouldn't you know it, the army cuts my disability pension because they said that the plate in my head wasn't big enough.
Last year in tent camping they weren't strict at all. We brought in tons of alcohol, NONE OF IT WAS GLASS THOUGH. I think that's what they really care about. We just poured everything into water bottles prior to arrival.
Car camping at Coachella last year was realllllly thorough. They took everything out of the trunk of my car and took all the hard alcohol they found. Obviously Stagecoach and Coachella are completely different in their leniency, but I'm sure its the same security personnel, so them searching your whole car is definitely a possibility

Where did you get your info???? We have a Class C motorhome-are you saying those are NOT allowed???????
Linda, where are you camping with your Class C?
