Food at the camping grounds

So I know there will be vendors, but not sure I want to pay for EVERY meal.

From the people who have camped before...what do you usually do for meals while at your campsite since theres no fires or stoves allowed? Just like cereal and stuff? lolol.

Well, there's a cheap pancake breakfast every morning (Its Elks club or Shriners or something). I eat lots of sandwiches, PB&J, & granola bars. At Stagecoach beer is something of a food group as well. Theres a lot of stuff that you can cook before hand and eat cold too, fried chicken, salads, etc... I'm sure theres lots of good stuff im not thinking of...

Are you car caming, Tent or RV?

Im in ED1, so I have a few more alternatives than car or tent campers. If in car/tent camping I suggest you think of things that you would eat cold out of your fridge like leftovers. (pizza, spaghetti, burritos, chinese food, etc.) I would suggest buying a few Pizzas and wrapping them up and stick in the cooler. You could also make a bunch of pre-made burritos which taste just fine cold.

Also, for about $100 you could buy an inverter to hook up to your car battery (http://www.walmart.com/ip/COBRA-CPI-...ndingMethod=rr), then get a cheep 900w microwave (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Magic-Chef...White/13308686) And you could make anything you want in your microwave... (or look for the above items used on craigslist or wherever)

haha well ya, i just dont want to have to run my truck all the time. rather beable to leave it on and forget about it (mainly for the beer pong table.)

I was thinking the same thing, thought about just buying a battery and inverter just for the event. Seems like an expensive solution though!

If you dont like running your truck your gunna have to either go to solar panels or extra bateries which is even more expensive. The cobra brand inverters are nice because they have a voltmeter that tells you when your battery is getting low (i have two of them and love them). You could turn your car on when it gets low and run it for 10-15min every couple hours at night while your table lights are on. And run it while your running the microwave. I would suggest getting some dryer vent tubing and routing the car exhaust up or out so your neighbors dont get too pissed (or die from CO poisoning)

Oh well if they have the voltmeter on them...thats a way better system....thats what I was wondering about...if they have the voltmeter on them, then that will be easy to keep tabs on.

Ya i know...Thinkin I could charge it off the truck for just a littel bit to get it charged up. but not how long that would take.

Read the specs on that thing... DC charging time is 3.5 hours! Run time for a table lamp 1.5hrs (and rope lights are much more amps than a table lamp) Fock that! These things are only good to charge at home and take with your for emergency use.

Your better off getting a cheap Deep Cycle battery and cheap low watt inverter if you only plan to power your lights. I would guess you could run those rope lights for 6-8hrs on a fully charged deep cycle battery. You could hook up jumper cables to the deep cycle battery and charge it back up in less than an hour. You might even be able to return the battery after stagecoach and say "it didnt fit" or something. Dont waste your time or money on that Duracel thing.

thought about that. just buying a battery haha. THe lights are LED...only draw like 20 watts per string...and have 2 on the table...so....40 watts total.

beer is food right? i mean, thats going to be my main source of nourishment at stagecoach...haha

The beer pong table is focking awsome! I thought t24mog was in RV parking at first. I absolutely love that its the best table i have seen but he hasnt figured out how to light it up yet!

That duracel thing is only about 12 AH (AH = Amp Hours = 1amp running for one hour) you also need to find how many amps those rope lights are and the wattage for the right inverter. A decent cheap deep cycle battery will be between 100 and 250 AH. Do the math, more AH = longer lights on = more beer pong in the dark.

If you cant figure it out, bring that table to my spot and i will power it all night long. (only cost me $850 for electricity for the weekend)
