And what camping area will this amazing beer pong table be at?! WE ARE SO THERE!!!!
KUZN - I gotta get to work on this power thing. Still havin a hard time figuring out exactly what I should do. Any thoughts?
Where are you at with it?
What happened to the 12AH batteries and the inverter?
I got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory, and wouldn't you know it, the army cuts my disability pension because they said that the plate in my head wasn't big enough.
Just havent had time to dive into it. Lol.
I guess thats the best way to go. Get the small SLA batteries - use those. Build the battery box and batta bing, batta boom - im there. Im ordering the larger power inverter today.
Im just wondering if theres a better way to do it...lol. Thought about adding the solar so I can charge batteries as I need too. Shouldnt take to long to charge those smaller batteries with the solar right?
Then when i need to charge the battery- hook it up to the solar panel and take it out of the battery box - leave the panel and the battery in the truck...
the other nice thing is I could actually keep it attached to the battery while the battery is being used during the day to charge cell phones and stuff...

Ive got two of those batteries in my garage. And i have a 3 phase charger that im bringing with me to charge my RV battery while im running the stereo...
This is what i suggest... You buy one of the 12AH SLA batterie an your inverter and complete all wiring necessary to make it work off one battery. Then you have a three choices when the battery dies:
1. Walk over to ED1 and find my RV and charge it on my 12v rapid charger that i will bring.
2. Walk over to ED1 and find my RV and Swap out your battery with a charged one that I will bring and have ready for you.
3. Ride a bike over to ED1 and find my RV and drink a beer with me while your battery is charging and then go back when your done.
Which one will you choose?

haha oh, those all sound good....
I tend to lean towards the drinking beer more. Ill bring beer lol.
Well check this out...if I got the solar...could I leave it hooked up to my truck...plug the inverter into my truck and just run it off the truck with an extension cord? No need to worry about a battery?
Yup! Thats the best way to go.
And if drains your battery too quick you can use that little thing called the ignition switch and run your truck for a few minutes and charge your battery.
(Maybe bring a dryer vent tube and hook up to your exhaust pipe and run the fumes out to the middle isle or upwards.)

Ya, I actually think that would be a good idea for the daytime, but if Im running the table at night...the solar is kind of out. So it seems like the battery pack would still be a way that I would need to go.
Ok ordering the solar just because it would be great to have for the daytime for charging phones and stuff...not having to find a power tree somewhere...
At this point, I'm loosely skimming this thread because I don't understand a word.

No matter what they say I've done, I ain't never had too much fun!
LOL.
Ok. So solar and power inverter are ordered and should be here tomorrow or early next week (gotta love newegg.com).
Now Im thinking I will have to build the battery pack, but that will be cheap and easy. Just need to get a battery box..and that other stuff. easily done at walmart. And I can pick up the battery at like frys or home depot.
