Ticket Buying Strategies?

Well, Stagecoach was certainly a bust.

Being overseas for the past year kept me blind to the pre-sales for both Stagecoach and Coachella. Needless to say, I was shut out of being about to buy Stagecoach tickets.

Does anyone have any ticket buying strategies with this new system Goldenvoice is using with Frontgate? Seems like Coachella will be an instant sell-out also.

Depends on if they can handle the volume, because they couldn't for Stagecoach. The "waiting room" was supposed to be first come, first served, but admittedly, Frontgate instead used it as a lottery system. So have as many people as you know get on to try to get tickets, and don't wait in the waiting room very long. Some of us waited for HOURS while other people got in many times.

Coachella buyers are going see the same confusion as Stagecoach this Friday (at 10:00 am). I'm sure glad I bought mine on layaway in June 2011. No problemo here!

I'm already trolling eBay and StubHub.

Wanted to buy this summer, but I was in the Middle East at the time. No way for me to buy tickets during the week they went on sale.

I'm on it for next year! I've been to the last two, and I won't miss this one either.

You might want to keep checking back on this message board, as well. As we get closer to the PARTY, folks will be trying to sell tickets they can't use because they fell in a hole and can't climb out.

a tip from someone at goldenvoice, go for weekend 2 passes, weekend 1 will be sold out within seconds.

I have friends going to Weekend 1 already...that's the main problem. Been there last two years no problem. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good online queue spot.

capacity is still 75,000, i believe. not sure what s left, though. not many for weekend 1, obviously.

I was trying to help a friend buy tickets, and been on "stand-by" for 22 minutes. I quit. I have a feeling I'll be waiting 2 1/2 hours like I did with Stagecoach. PLEASE bring back Ticketmaster next year. I will pay the fees!!

Ended up getting tickets for everyone who needed them. Right on. Weekend 1 and 2.

i actually pulled one for my nephew through the radiohead website. was in and out of there in 2 minutes while waiting for over 3 hours and nothing through frontgate. thanks radiohead!

Don't give up on SC, check back here later. Every year people start dumping tickets like mad about a month before the festival.
