    Default CMAs

If I Die Young? Really? It's a good song, but there were definitely some better ones it was up against.

    If I Die Young again?

On a side note, this is why country music awards shows are the best. They're on their fifth performance of the night and have only given away two awards so far (even if they were for the same song).

I knew Sugarland would win, but I was really pulling for Thompson Square. Their time will come.

It's a tough song for her, maybe she was just getting emotional?

I don't get the New Artist category. Shouldn't it be somebody with a first album or first single that is actually BRAND NEW???

I'm not sure how Luke Bryan or Eric Church is a new artist, but my vote was for Luke. If I were choosing an actual new artist, my pick was Thompson Square in a landslide.

Was it The Band Perry that played with Alan Jackson last November? I couldn't stand them. She annoyed the heck outta me.... and still does apparently lol

It was my first time watching the CMA's and it was awesome that there were more performances than "bits" or awards. Very cool.

on a side note, "If I die young" is a VERY good song lyrically.

I agree with the first part. Although it's really hard to choose between Luke and Eric, I think Luke should have won.

Thompson Square? Really? They remind me of Sonny and Cher in the '70s. Shawna has a strong and beautiful flowing voice, but Keifer sounds like he is straining his in every song. I always wonder if he's constipated. LOL.

On another note, what about that bit with Hank Jr? What a riot. I about peed myself laughing. I guess that was his way of saying "F*** the NFL."

Yeah, it was The Band Perry and Chris Young at the Nokia Theatre in LA Live.

I agree and think they deserved both wins. New Artist was a competitive category this year. I enjoy Luke's music more than Perry's, but you have to admit, their sound is very unique and caught fire this year. I respect that they write their own music too.
Daddy cried when he saw my tatoo,
    Said he loves me anyway.
My brother got the brains of the family,
So I thought I'd learn to sing.

Loved the CMA's. Was rather taken aback by The Band Perry's sweep going on but congrats. I was rooting for Thompson Square and others but that's my bias having seen so many of the other acts live and loving them!

Recently saw Jason Aldean with Chris Young & Thompson Square. Can't wait for Aldean at Stagecoach! He is sooooo good live!

Did anyone else notice that Taylor Swift didn't win a single thing she was nominated for, then when it came time for "Entertainer of the Year", the last and biggest award, she won? Don't get me wrong, I totally loved her first album but I kinda think her time has passed...

Oh and the Hank Jr. bit had me cracking up hysterically, I love how it set the tone for the rest of the night!

I think that's actually fitting. She doesn't have a great voice, but is a great entertainer.
