What is the "Tent Camping" space in between International and EDI? I thought everything was "Car Camping"???

Also, will they be providing a more detailed map which shows where the "companion Vehicle" parking will be located? Or can we park the companion vehicle in any day lot as long as they have the companion pass?

There were tent only camp spots sold. this info is on the website, bottom of camping page
    TENT CAMPING:

Tent camping passes are $75 + 10 % Indio TOT tax + service charges.
    Each space is 10x15.
Each space comes with a parking spot in an adjacent lot (you cannot park your car next to your tent).
You may fit as many tents/people in your spot as space allows.
Only ONE camping pass per purchase.
Only ONE camping pass per household.
Tent Camping passes are WILL CALL ONLY (will call details to follow once festival wristbands are shipped).
Original purchaser will need to provide picture I.D./credit card used to purchase pass/AND Wearing your Festival Wristband.
We will not accept any name changes.

These camping spots are allocated for those who were unable to purchase camping passes during the on sale. We will cross reference with camping passes already purchased and cancel any duplicates. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A CAMPING PASS OF ANY TYPE, DO NOT PURCHASE A TENT CAMPING PASS.

Thank you for your time. I apparently need to open my eyes... This info was directly above the map.

This may be a dumb questions, we were able to get an International spot for this yr but have limited trailer/RV options. Is this trailer legit? This will be our 2nd yr and I don't remember seeing anything like this last yr so I wanted to check before we finalized everything.

    Thanks!

Yikes, 16 months. You're going to have your hands full. You can't bring umbrellas and its usually extremely hot, no outside water either. They MIGHT even take issue with baby bottles. Security isn't the most reasonable bunch.

    Also might recommend ear protection.

This was on the policy page "Are generators allowed into the onsite RV camping ?
Only generators that have been factory installed on your RV are permitted."

ok so I have heard from many people that have had their camper/rvs in eldorado2 that they use portable generators? So are you allowed to have them in some campgrounds and other not? Or was this rule changed and applies to this year? Please help b/c i would like to know if Im going to be without power or not in Eldorado 2!!!! THanks!!!

I have ALWAYS (for last 3 years) used my portable generator in lieu of my on board gas guzzling generator without any incident. I have also seen MANY others doing the same thing. It is not possible for trailers with no "built in" generator not to use a portable one. I know the rule has been the same for years about generators. I think they just look the other way.

After reading a new post about the neighbors not being allowed to sell parking on their lot, it got me thinking and curious where this "additional parking added by the venue" is going to be. I searched the whole site an found nothing on where the parking is or how to get there (specifically day parking and companion parking). Its hard to believe that this information is not out there and easy to find, so maybe I just didn’t see it (nothing on event info or visitor info). The only thing I find is the camping map that shows the south half along Ave 52 being "day parking", but this is misleading because that’s actually about 15 different lots with separate entrances and some private property.

I hate to always sound so cynical on here, but parking has seemed to be a huge blunder in the past couple years (at least my experience with the companion parking). Can we expect a detailed map of where to park (both day and companion)? Im sure you anticipate much more companion parking with the sell out of everything. Also what about the map like a couple years ago that had arrows of how to enter these lots. That was HUGE for me the first time I went because I had no idea how to arrive and I think it helped sort the herd of different camping passes.

Thank you, any help as early as possible is appreciated!

I must've gotten super lucky. I thought that companion parking was the one thing that was really smooth last year! Pulled in on Friday evening with almost no line, found a nice close spot to park and was a breeze leaving on Sunday.

not really a need for detailed parking maps for day parking since you don't really have a choice of where to park. you drive down monroe/madison/jackson and they direct you to the lot currently being filled.

I hope it is that simple for the day use people... But you cant even find those simple directions on the main page anywhere. Only a map of Indio and a google link. I still think they should provide some sort of directions to the event and explain where the parking is going to be to keep idiots like me from finding a way to screw things up.

Specifically for the companion parking... Lets say my friends meet me on friday afternoon (3 companion vehicles for our group)... are you saying just to drive down one of these streets and circle the block asking parking attendents if this is the companion lot? This was not a fun experience for us in 2010 because nobody working the event knew anything. Wife ended up circling the block for over an hour and then parking in day use for the weekend and luckily we were not towed. Something needs to sort the day use from the companion lots. Especially with the expected amount of companion vehicles (and nobody can play dumb, we know there are gunna be twice as many of these vehicles this year). Will we recieve companion passes that the attendents can see and direct us to the right location? I thought it worked great to have directions to the RV entrances. This way not everyone is coming down the same street then getting turned away because they didnt come to the right entrance.

We didnt go last year so maybe they got this all figured out and im worried bout nothin.

They usually update things here when it gets closer to the festival. Stuff like the festival map, camping map, and so on. Although, if they don't, all you can really do is get off at jefferson or monroe and head south. all parking is basically accessed via those roads.

this was on the "onsite camping rules" page:
"* You will see signs directing you to your specific campground. Maps will be posted closer to the festival dates."

this is from the Coachella site:

    DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From Los Angeles - Interstate 10 East towards Palm Springs. Pass Highway 111. Exit 10 at Jefferson Street or continue on and exit at Monroe Street. Travel South. Traffic personnel and/or signs will direct cars to the Empire Polo Club, and event parking & camping. Please carefully obey all signage and staff directions.

Companion parking question: I realize that these passes were to be bought with concert passes, I read that part, however, things have changed since November when passes were bought and one person in my party needs to arrive later. Is my only option to try to buy someone elses ticket that they are not using? I'm hoping that someone is bored at work and will answer my question. thanks
