Needs improvement - 2011

That new "companion" lot this year....only took me 3 1/2 hours to get in on Saturday. Not only made me drive completely around the polo field but made me go past it and do a u-turn to enter from only one direction. I kept pointing at the Lot 4 decal and the security of Stagecoach was going to let me through but the Indio police was not having it.

Love that you always start this thread! They sure have it down to a pretty well oiled machine now. I don't have much this year...

1) Boy/Girl Lines at the entry gates - if you're gonna do it this way, there are at least twice as many girls as boys. Allocate 2:1 female inspection lines.

2) VIP wrist band exchange was hidden and a wild-goose chase for a while cuz none of the info employees knew where it was either. If it has to be tucked away like that - have a SIGN that IS visible in the entry way pointing us in that direction.

3) "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" is to 2008 what Shania Twain is to 2011 - waaaaay overplayed. It's a bummer oversight IMO that more thought isn't put into the pre-game and in-between music playlist. There's just too much good country music out there to fill that time with than having to replay the same 10-15 songs. IMO the task of PA music should be added as a critical task to the overall SC master project plan.

Turn the sound up. The volume was turned down on most the acts. When carrie underwood and rascal flatts came on they turned the volume up and it felt like you were at a concert again. New acts please. Kenny is no longer Kenny. Kenny Chesney 2011is the same kenny i saw in 2008. The will call was in the back and confusing. I would rather have more acts next year than wristbands.

ok a couple of things
1. the forum should not have a exit gate and a entrance gate so far from each other
2. get wristbands for the venue too
3. one drink wristband for the weekend not two!
4. NEW ACTS NEW ACTS NEW ACTS, get some good names like toby kieth, zbb, gary alan, george strait ect....

Only a couple this year, they have it down pretty well now!

1. NEED wristbands or something for the venue. 3 people in my small group along lost their tickets inside the venue on the first day. And you could only get a duplicate if you had a c/c that it was charged on. Made it impossible for those who won tickets, or bought off of here or CL.

2. Tent camping morning curfews. I went out at 7am and came back with coffee and we were bounced around by security to go to different gates to enter. Then we were told it was locked until 9am. I was in pajamas with hands full of coffee and donuts. Entry should have been allowed...

3. The companion lot needing a ticket was a whole lotta confusing, especially the day there was an accident (Sunday) over on Madison and 50th. Then they were refusing people entry.

Overall I think it went pretty smooth this year though!

Last year my daughter watched it on CMT a few weeks later. Hopefully they will do it again for those of us that have patchy memories of the weekend!

Just wanted to say I will never stay in ED2 again. The DJ that played until 5:30 every morning was a little excessive. Im all for a party and having a blast, But the bass on that system made my window shake and trailor rattle ALL NIGHT LONG. I am clear there is NO curfew, but people need to have some sort of respect in my opinion. Then when security did go over and request for the dude to turn it down, there was almost a huge fight with the camper and 5 security people. It was insane, and i was exhusted by the time i left that place... International from now on for me.... not cause i am old but i need my sanity when i party all day and need a little bit of sleep at night...

This was my 3rd year.

-Kenny Chesney, overplayed!!!
-Too many lost tickets in our group and I found 3 other tickets, need wristbands like we had in the past!!!
-More screens, especially if there are going to be an incredible amount of people.
-I understand a concert is supposed to be loud, but inside the venue was ridiculously loud, the sound was not great in my opinion.
-My biggest complaint is the traffic control. I understand closing roads and not allowing vehicle traffic, but why not foot traffic? Sunday night I was at 50th and Monroe, needing to get in the overnight parking. I had to walk all the way to 48th, down 48th to Madison and through a parking lot. Finally a security guard picked me up in a golf cart and drove me to the parking lot 4.
-The venue security??? They need to be more educated, period.

Overall I had a great time, but was not happy with the lineup, security or the venue itself. The camping was great!

LOL I remember that asshat from last year. Or a similar asshat. Sorry he inflicted himself on the RVers again. Dangit! It took me four days to recover because of so little sleep last year. I thought it was jsut cuz I'm an oldie but a goodie. guess not, lol.

Yes! I think I am with you! we stayed in international last year and tried EDII for the first time this year. Even though we made lost of great friends I dont think we will stay there again just for the simple fact of sleep deprevation.

Last year I was in EDII and I just took a muscle relaxer each night before bed and don't remember having any trouble sleeping. And I'm usually a light sleeper!

I couldn't sleep at all last year! I just knew I spent all that money for an RV and a space and it was worthless for sleeping purposes.

I had fun "experiencing" RV'ing at SC for 2 years. The first year in ED2 was exhausting. Jukebox Hero played ALL NIGHT LONG. Hodgee remembers that too. It took me weeks to recover from those 5 days. ADA the next year was quieter, but it was a rental unit, uncomfortable beds, not enough water for showering, too much food for the refer, and alot of money spent.

The last 2 years at a motel off site was "heavenly". Warm showers, unlimited water, a bed for each of us, and a good nights sleep. And we could party and visit everyone in the RV area when we wanted.

It takes planning and organizing to RV and tent camp. I am impressed when I see those of you with all the details taken care of. I could never do it alone.

Trouble sleeping? I usually have trouple not sleeping! i don't want to miss anything! try to be the first one up and the last one to bed! good times! next year i will have to party with the message board people a lot more!!!

I LOVED tenting it this year! Last year we did the RV thing & it was great too, but there is something about being out & about because you can't stay in your tent all day. They definitely need to organize it better. Total free for all!

It was fairly quiet in ED1. KFROG quit at 2 AM and the few other karaokes around quit by about 3 AM.
