Question My mom is 93. She walks okay, a little unsteady

Any ideas how easy it is to get around the grounds. would this be too difficult for a woman that is 93? She loves country music and i would love to have her go -- but she needs help as she is blind in one eye and she needs to hold on to me when she walks. she doesn't use a walker, cane or wheelchair - too proud. any ideas? anybody?

I'm sure the grounds are large - I'ms sure I could talk her into a wheelchair, do they have them available there?
    thanks everybody

I doubt they have wheelchairs there, you may want to think about getting one in advance. But only if she's really enthusiastic about going. Its extremely hot and lots of walking is involved especially if you plan on traveling between the stages.

I'm 39 with back pain, and I'm trying to find out what the grounds are like too, I have difficulty with sitting & staning for more than 30 min in one place, and walking to much....so yeah I don't see myself going to this, I want to soooo bad, but I think its going to be to difficult. Sure hope your able to take your mom! The heat is really bad too, I worry about that also with the medications I'm on. Well good luck to you. I was hoping someone gave you info on you question, no one really answered your quetions about the grounds, maybe you will need to check a different source to get your questioned answered! If I find out any additional info I'll let you know...Take care and have fun if you go.

I went last year and I have some what of bad knees, i walked a lot and yes I was sore.... But you can **really** enjoy the show from the main stage and they had plenty of shade if you got too hot you could cool off under and it had misters... drink plenty of fluids the whole week before the show and during... enjoy =-)

You must be trying to kill her. She must have money or something.

hey...gaypalmsprings...note that this was a post from last year. Besides be nice anyways...please!!! No need for rude/sarcastic remarks about someone who loves their mom, whom happens to love country music.

It was warm last year, but most of the great venues were at night and it was very, very comfortable!!

My father is 85, & I love him enough to keep him from having a heat stoke.

DONT GO..!!!!!..........I had a horrible time last year, they state on their web site that there is handicapped parking, my mom had a hip replacement surgery and cant walk much. We pulled into the parking lot and asked for handicapped parking, was told (by the 16 year old kids working there) that there was none and to wait for a shuttle, which we found out there was also none. SO we started out on our hike....after 30 minutes of sweltering heat, we made it to the front gate but wait there is more, the gates aren't near anything really....so off to another hike to set our chairs down....we stayed just for a few bands as my mom had such pain from all the walking made us leave. We didn't even make it the next day, wasted money, wasted time. I have tried to contact this organization for over a year and they hide behind their web site with no contact number, wont return emails or anything. I am trying to get some compensation for saying there was handicapped parking and having none, hiring dip s**ts to park us who were clueless to the needs of the handicapped.
Take it from someone who has been there, save your money.

    Kat.....
