People complain every year about the line up and then go and have a good time, or they don't go and the rest of us have an even better time because of it. See ya in Indio!
I want to rock and roll all night...and part of everyday
And if they don't like it I say go book your own festival and see what you come up with.
Oh heck yeah it is. I think one thing many people don't realize is that you can only book artists who are available and want to play. People always comment on why so and so isn't playing. Take for instance: If you were an artist who has been touring your ass off for a year or two and are on a break would you really want to come out of hibernation to travel thousands of miles to play a one off festival show? and since this is pretty much just a country music festival their scope of artists to book is much leaner than coachella who can draw from rap, indie, punk, rock, and pretty much any genre under the sun for its festival. i know some bands route their tours so that they can be in the area come stagecoach time, but for others that just isn't feasible. especially the smaller groups where the payday is pretty minuscule for playing a festival show. they can probably make more playing a small club than they would at stagecoach, much more so if they have to go out of their way to get to the festival.

LOL, yeah there is a lot that goes into it and you obviously have been around the industry for some time. It's all about routing and one off's, etc.... At the end of the day it doesn't matter who you want, it's who's available and if it fits in the schedule... Booking is a long process... I spend 6 months of the year do it..
I for one don't see myself going this year with that line-up. The promoters need to know when a fan that has planned on going (I already booked vacation time) decides not to go based on the line-up. I go for the acts, the parties are secondary. I can't justify that money outlay for the acts they have booked unless they cut the price down. The ticket price should reflect the quality of the acts. 2010, four main headliners. 2011, 2 1/2 headliners (Just saw Carrie in San Diego and after the show I thought she should have been an opening act, not a headliner). Tickets should be cut 35% minimum.
Not to mention...they always bring up a 'last-minute' artist a few months before the show, so for all you know it could be someone you want to see...
I'm excited...5th year for me...it's MY weekend...the only weekend of the year that is scheduled for me and the girls!!!
For those of you who complain about POP country...Loretta Lynn, Mel Tillis, Gatlin Brothers, Rodney Crowell...Now here is some old school COUNTRY!!!
Stagecoach...07, 08, 09, 10, 11 & 12
99.00 for a two days pass = $150.00 after fees. 21 acts = 5.00 per performance. That's impossible to do so if you see 1/2 that's $10.00. Yes, I know that doesn't include food, drink etc...but you spend that at every concert you go to anyway.

Yeah true, and we justify it like this every year, but three stages, so 1/3, not including the walking/travel time just getting from stage t
o stage. although that is sometimes the funnest time.
maybe this is why Garth wont be there
