2010 Kelly Beach Trip July 30th-Aug 1st

mom and i thought we were doing 'every man for himself' mostly because no one mentioned anything before. i was planning on bringing a whole bunch of muffins and pastries so everyone gets some breakfast. i have a coleman camp stove & grill i don't mind sharing it but i'm only bringing a little propane. i hadn't planned on using it all that much just for dinners.

Don't forget to cook over the campfire at night as well!

The mini propane tanks are $3-$4 at Home Depot and they last awhile. I'll need to buy at least 3 I think. My grill is a pretty decent size, I can easily cook for 4 people (steaks and potatoes), or like 8-10 burgers at once. And cooking over the campfire?? Umm...hot dogs and marshmellows are the only things I can think of that can be cooked on a campfire!

Ok, just heard from Gigi. We will be leaving at 6:45am on Friday morning. She wants to get there early for ample shaded camping spots. So we will probably be the first there. She said with no traffic it's about 3 1/2 hours.

Hmmm yeah we should probably figure out food stuff . . . Miss B - I can bring some propane to contribute to your grill :0) its only 2 nights so it shouldnt be too bad to plan if everyone wants to go in together for food. Its a total of 5 meals. 2 breakfasts - 1 (maybe 2) lunch(es) - 2 dinners and that main lunch is floating down a river so Im thinking pre-made sandwiches are a must!!!

mom and i are planning on just using the grill for friday & saturday night. as far as lunches go we will be taking some sandwich stuff with us and then make sandwiches for lunch friday and saturday before the float. i'm not a big breakfast eater and mostly just didn't feel like cooking breakfast so that's why i was thinking pastries & muffins.

I will bring and prepare enough chicken and enough pork and beans for our first dinner! Unless everyone has other plans. Let me know ok?

I have a camping grill, I need to find time to go to Home Depot and get some mini-propane tanks. Sort of every man for himself, but we can organize some stuff on here. I was planning on bringing extra stuff to cook for people. I'm REALLY hurtin for money right now, so if we all wanna pitch in to get stuff, that's great! I have a griddle and can make breakfast burritos, etc. Burgers, baked potatoes, etc. I go all out for camping, lol.

I also found my electric pump, but everyone bring one if you have one. The batteries run out quick on those.

i have a 'hand pump' and one that plugs into the car- i will bring both.
money is tight too but mom and i are planning on doing chicken kabobs and salad friday night. and then filet mignon, salad, and baked potatoes saturday night. i think it'll be easier if we all just bring what we plan to eat that way we don't end up with too much leftovers and it doesn't get too pricey. if i had the cash i would do filet mignon for everyone but that'll get expensive real quick lol. what do you guys think?

the burgers is a good idea, always easy to cook a lot at once and everyone wil be happy. i'm not to keen on hot dogs personally.

Jello shots sound great. I would say plan your big dinner meal for Friday night. Saturday we will be tubing all day and are gonna be WIPED out when we get back to camp and probably starving and won't feel like cookin a huge meal. Could just be me though! IDK what I'm bringing yet, I gotta figure this out! I'm just happy to know who's driving and what time, lol. Only 2 nights to get this shiz together though!!

lol, well you'd be surprised how many times i've gone camping and almost always forget something. once i even left the whole bag of towels by the front door so i have my fool proof checklist now. i check everything off as i make the huge pile of crap in the living room and then double check after packing the car to make sure eveything actually makes it into the car.

I just went camping this past weekend and right before dusk, I realized that I forgot my friggin' LANTERNS! And we were in the mountains. Good thing I live close enough and drove down the mountain all the way to my house to get them. What a dork I am.

oooh, you have lanterns? THat's the only thing I don't have. That and flashlights. Well, I did have flashlights, but Heather took them. Along with my shaving razors and blanket. Sigh. She did leave me one flashlight with no batteries. LMAO!
