so need to learn to swim so I can go with you guys next time.
From the pictures I saw (SORRY), looked more like you need to learn how to float in a raft rather than swim
I will be glad to teach you, I took many years of swimming lessons and lifeguard lessons because my mom couldn't swim. Most public pools offer free swimming lessons too. Call around.

Well Rose you know I only have a few months b4 I hit 40 so gotta kick it in gear here. And I will have to figure out where you can teach me I don't do well with strangers.
Off course? It wouldn't be a SCMB thread if it didn't get off course SOMEHOW! haha
Wow - what I miss from a day or two of not checking this thing!
Great points to both sides of the picture-posting debate. Glad the debate got sorted out and everyone's still getting along.![]()

My Bumper sticker reads ~ Drink 'til he's cute ~ That's what I'm gonna do ~ Ain't got no serious thing ~ Don't wear a diamond ring ~ I'm just a summer girl!!!
Is it April yet???![]()
Yes Yes Yes it is April now!!!!
LOL, you don't need to swim at all to float in the tube. Unless of course you are Rich. He HAD to swim to steer us all out of the trees! Mr. Psycho's swimming did NOT come in handy as he flailed right past us down the river. LMAO! Or when UncleFEiny did not make it to his tube in time. So many fun memories!
No matter what they say I've done, I ain't never had too much fun!
No, nothing went bad. I wasn't mad at anyone and made sure that was understood. I wanted the pictures down and that's all (and yes I DID overreact). Nobody's done anything with malice here and no reason for it to become a big deal. But I think this was a good discussion for us to have about what kind of stuff should or shouldn't be posted.
That's not right, and there's the rub.
Google scours EVERYTHING. And they don't just index it they cache it forever. There are web services (I can't think of the names off the top of my head) that allow you to go back in time and see how any website looked at a particular time in the past, even if the site has drastically changed.
So when people use Google to search for things, if we are using our real names, Google will direct people to this forum. (i.e. people we might be dating, companies we are applying for jobs with, etc.) That's why the Demotivational Posters thread has 1 million+ page views, they are finding it through Google.
This is why I never allowed my full name or phone number on the Stagecoach spreadsheet. That spreadsheet has been cached by Google and lots of other Internet spiders and you can't un-do it by deleting it now.
It's also why you should never post your email address on a forum or any site. There are thousands of spam spiders that do nothing but scour Web pages looking for any email address they can find. Then they spam you...
Your online privacy is non-existent. Anything you do/say/post will be forever saved in a database(s) somewhere.
Internet privacy lesson over.

Woah, too much school for one day! But an interesting and useful lesson nonetheless.
That's crazy! Like chicken on a roast beef sandwich!
Roy is right bout google. my mom has googled me and the first thing that comes up is this board even before FB. it is hard sometimes to remember that anything you put on the web is lost forever and can be found by anyone.

I ain't here for a long time
I'm here for a good time!!
I'm just not all that private of a person. I know what I'm doing when I put my info up. I don't think anything comes up with my name, but when you put my phone number in, this comes up. Google is how I looked up all the dirt on my friends dirtbag ex that was lying about everything. But I've tried to dig up stuff on me and all I come up with is my phone number on here. No big deal to me. I think everyone has their own comfort level though. I have a girlfriend who will delete you from her FB if you tag her on ANY photo. Even if it's super innocent. Doesn't matter, her theory is she will tag it if she wants it. Me? I don't care. I'll untag if it's a horrible pic of me, but that's about it. I wouldn't put myself on camera if I cared. Like when I looked like hell this weekend, I refused to let CaliGirl take a pic of me. I didn't want one.
I think if you are THAT private, you def aren't online like we are. You would be too afraid of stuff gettin out. Maybe I'm TOO trusting (seems to be a pattern), but I just don't really worry about that stuff. If somebody is pathetic enough to do something like crank call me with my phone number, I can laugh at that. I don't give my address out publicly, but otherwise, yeah, I'm probably a sitting target, lol.
No matter what they say I've done, I ain't never had too much fun!
i'm not really a private person either. my motto has always been if you want to know something just ask- i'll tell you. i don't give out my address but as far as my phone number and stuff who cares. and the picture thing- i've learned EVERYONE takes embarrassing photos at some point. you just have to learn to laugh at yourself. my mom said if she was worried about bad or embarrassing photos then she would have practically none left. and she also said is if she was like' oh no take those pics off FB' that poor karena would have to take every photo with my mom in it down. but she knows it's just a picture. lol i love my mom she has the best sense of humor!
like you said everyone has a different comfort level.

I won't give you guys a lecture here but I would very strongly encourage you to reconsider your stance on this and take your online privacy more seriously. There are all kinds of ways this stuff can screw you up. It's not the "pathetic" prank caller you need to worry about. A number of those things have already been mentioned in the thread but it's just the tip of the iceberg.
I am THAT private with my online activity. I don't post anything that could be misused or used to mischaracterize.
As for pictures, big difference between your friends having some uncompromising pictures of you and having them posted online for the world to see.
Thank you for the internet lesson Mr. Psycho and letting us know that you have boundries. Your a GREAT guy with loads of helpful information.
How come my phone is not ringing off the hook from giving out all my information? No extra mail? I already knew that I'm just not that important and such a small blimp on the information highway radar.
As far as people and employers judging me and my actions or my friends...I DON'T CARE. I am who I am and at this point in my life it's too late to change. My last employer was not music friendly AT ALL but the employer before that encouraged everything music.
