alcohol and outdoor cooking

Why aren't RV campers allowed to cook outdoors? And why no alcohol inside of our RV? I can understand the promoters not wanting people drinking and being rowdy in the campground, but really, isn't this excessive? Or is it just a money issue for the festival, because they want you to purchase from "their" vendors?

This sounds like a great event for the entire family, but the outdoor cooking and alchohol restrictions seem completely overkill. The cost of the event is fair enough, and outdoor cooking restrictions are understandable. The restriction on alchohol is positively not possible to police and I don't think very many individuals will be receptive to a full RV search upon entry. I hope the promotors figure this out and relax restrictions. We are not rowdy drunks and would like to bring the kids. Being in our own RV as a paid camper, a glass of wine of my wife's choosing and some beer for myself from my RV should be allowed. Pull the Gestapo, let our people be free.

BS! Do you think we're stupid? There are so many contradictions between the rules and your answers. You need to up date the rules page as soon as possible. You are losing many people's intrest due to the vagueness of the rules and the seemingly contradictory answers you are giving. I really love the "keep it on the down low" advise you gave one person about the alcohol rules. What attorney ok'ed that reply????

Hey Woodpile, I sent you a private message explaining some stuff that you may have been taken out of context or what not. I'll be happy to be pen pals with you.

Anyways, the official rule is no alcohol can be brought in.

Also. No cooking outdoors.

We offer onsite camping as an alternative to hotels for people coming from far away but we are not a regular campground. It took us 3 years to establish permits for the Coachella festival (which is in it's 8th year and happens a week prior) for any onsite camping to be allowed and we have many rules to follow to even offer this option. I apologize if you find the rules harsh but from our perspective we are happy to have onsite camping at all. It has been an extremely helpful option for many people and we have made huge efforts and succeeded with huge improvements in onsite camping each year. I expect there might be a few bumps in the road with this being the first Stagecoach but we will try our best to make it an overall enjoyable experience.

Woodpile, chill! There is no contradictory answer. Alcohol is not allowed and that is the way it is.... none of us like it but that’s life. On the other hand, what you do inside your own RV is your business as long as keep under control. Those that blow it will be busted. Its comments like yours that ruin it for the rest of us! Just relax, enjoy, be nice and let’s all get along and have a good time!!

Clarity and Consistancy!!

Boblindemann, before you correct me on the contradictions click on Countrygurl's name and look at all her postings re: alcohol and In-and-outs. You WILL find contradictory answers. The only "Rule" about alcohol on the RV camping page of rules is no alcohol...I agree. She gave two different answers in other postings though.

My comment is not the problem...The problem is that people are to afraid to say what they think because they might offend someone. Like she said to someone else, "an all day festival might not be for everyone". I would hope, despite the trite answer, they are trying to appease as many Country music fans as possible.

Many of my friends and I have been to other Country music festivals, and I must say that none were as rule-bound or expen$ive as this one. I'm sure it will still be an aw$ome event.

The festival organizers are only given permission to have RV's on the property if they abide by the rules set out by the city. If they told people to ignore the rules and go ahead and bring and do whatever you want, then next year the city would say, RV"S? no way! However, no body is going to go hunting through your motorhome for alcohol! and that is what the organizers would tell you if they could get away with it, but they can't. So, do what all the rest of us are going to do, bring whatever you want, just keep it to yourself.

Ok...this topic is going to come up over 1200 times before the dates.

YES it says not alcohol..BUT IT IS EVERYWHERE AND NO ONE HIDES IT!! Like I have said before, there are beer pong tables, kegs, margarita bars at some of the sites.. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT..IT IS ALLOWED! Ok, now the "legal" side..yes they HAVE to say it isn't on the rule page.

I have been for the past two years and it was never a problem.

I do understand the contradictions. The first year everyone panicked about the alcohol. We hid ours, but once we drive in, 90% of the people had their red cups in hand and already partying.

Then the BBQ issue/cooking outside. The first year they said NO BBQ, but while driving in, Paul (one of the promotors) was on KPLM Radio about 9-10-am and made the announcement that you CAN BBQ..so we pulled over and bought steaks, shrimp etc etc. We always have our BBQ in the rig anyway.

So...we are BBQ'ing and have our table set up, invite our new neighbors, they bring the wine, we bring the steak and shrimp and we sit outside and have a nice dinner...well...Paul, the promoter himself... walks up to us. Asks if he can hang for a bit and chat...WELL DUH..OF COURSE!!

He sits down with us for about 20-30 minutes asking us what we think of everything. We thanked him for easing the liquor and BBQ. So things DO CHANGE, or, call them contradictary. He was even working on having fire pits for 08, but that never panned out apparently. The liquor was NOT a problem. It just has to be said in the rules.

BUT for 2008 we were told several times to shut down our BBQ, as well as our neighbors were..but with the food already cooking we had to finish it. So they were pretty strict on the BBQ for 08 (guess they couldn't get permission for 08, only 07)

OH..but again....the liquor...hell, even the cops would come by after their shifts and party!

Oh, another thing I thought of...the no dogs rule.

Well, I know I know, not good to leave your dog in your RV and the rules "clearly" state no dogs...but they also were every where.

Many of these RV'ers travel from other states with their pets, so they must bring them. Or I guess they can tie them up to the outside of the fence line of the property!! (ok, joke!!)
