Will someone please explain the difference between Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, and Kellie Pickler?

They are all good to great singers that make nearly identical music. How do you discern if you like one, but not the other?

Edit:

Additionally, I would bet you could go through their recorded collections and find fairly equal representations from the same group of Nashville songwriters. So it isn't like the content of their material is that different.
