***That is fricken hilarious.... Understand your frustration with GV, they are not exactly the most professional outlet. And as we move on in Multi-year Stagecoach events, they are getting worse by each passing year. I do however agree with everyone as to the 'experience' cause if I was there for anything but the camping experience w/ friends and catching the main headliners (which is all I usually see) believe me the 'value' would not be there.... Suggestion, focus in on the party, friends you will meet and keep and have a blast. GV has us 'veteran' SC'ers by the "you know what" because we want to come back each to hang out with our friends and camp.... lol That part of the experience, PRICELESS....

    Yup, well said Angie.
It's the party, the fun. the people, the "festival" atmosphere that keeps us coming back.. oh and the Lemon Drop shots!!! ha ha...

Many of us have already seen these performers, but only once a year can we come to Indio for a great friendship reunion. The party gets better every year.

ok, i realize that losing announced artists can be frustrating, but can i offer this...

im not trying to get into an arguement, but i am NOT a country music fan. at all. but my gf is. i decided for a gift this year for her bday or anniversary, id take her since she ONLY loves country music and broadway music.

that being said, my original plan was to get her Taylor Swift Tickets, which, well, that show was tonight (or maybe tomorrow?) at the staples center in LA.

i proceeded to forget to check for said swift tickets after the 1st 3 shows went on sale (non were LA) and rememebered when she won like 5 billion awards this year.

by that time the show was sold out.

fine, NP, this is why we have stubhub...

that being said, tickets to see Taylor, in the same general area i have our tickets for, which, i got actual reserved seats for SC, were upwards for 400-500 a PIECE.

i was THIS CLOSE to just buying them, when i decided to check and see some tour dates for some of her other fav bands, 2 happened to be Sugarland and Keith Urban, who are headlining one day at SC.

i opted for 2 day passes for SC. 225 bucks.

this being said, while this festival may lose acts, and YES that IS frustrating, think about how much value you are getting for the price of admission.

even NON stubhub Swift tickets, in the same general row/area as my SC tickets were 80 a piece PLUS taxes, shipping, venue fee...

i dont know much about country music, but i know enough to know that, Keith Urban, Sugarland, Toby Keith are big name acts that can sell out 25k+ seat arenas.... add in B+D on their retirement tour... not to mention Jason Aldean, whom im told is getting huge, and, my parents were oak ridge boys fans, and i have seen them more than a few times, and to see THEM, teh venue near me, was upwards of 50-75 bucks.

while i can say im unhappy right now with whomever is running this festival since its 8 days? and there is NO readily available set times on THIS SITE (but via an iphone app? and THANKS to the person who put them up in the other thread) as well as the fact there is NO 2010 site map to see where the stages are, and what conviences and other stuff there is going on during the 2 days, but you have to look at previous years galleries to get a feel for it, well, its disturbing, but, at this point, even knowing very little, i feel like that the price of admission for this is WELL worth while.

anyways, yeah, done with this long rant.

just saying, i get the frustration, but for what you have to pay to see some of these acts ALONE, add it together, even if some acts cancel, isnt it in the end worth while?

You're totally right xzer....you CAN'T buy a concert ticket for one act for much less than the pass for the entire weekend. For that alone, it's totally worth the value! I hope you have some fun even though this music is not your thing. You're a good boyfriend. =)

LOL thank you i try, but we have a good relationship, give and take. im of a mind, as long as im with HER, doesnt really matter what it is, and where i am.

but you know how things are, people do things for each other even if the other may or may not be a fan LOL, like i said, looking on the bright side, prolly wont get to see the oak ridge boys, but im looking forward to Nick 13.

all about give and take and looking at the positives LOL

Do they happen to say GA anywhere on the tickets?

There isn't a section 13 at the mane stage this year. Mane stage tickets should run $540.30 (including fees) per ticket for two days

IDK off the top of my head, but i know it had a row and seat numbers.

if this isnt the case that i have seats, im going to have an issue, because, well, i was under the impression that i had seats when given a row and seat numbers. and if i DONT, well, i wouldve shelled out more money to HAVE seats at the main stage area.

if its GA, why would they give you seats and a row? thats odd. ive been to ALOT of concerts in my life, and, when it was GA, they didnt give you a row or seat number, just GA under every thing, IE..

    Sec: GA
    Row: GA
    Seat: GA

sure hope thats not the case cause LOL i wouldve shelled out for more to have seats LOL

See this is why I asked u about your tickets - becasue the price you paid sounds more like General Admission . . .

I just checked Ticketmaster and Section 11 Row C is available at $1,069.80 for two tickets. You can go to the box office upon arrival and upgrade your tickets.

I have had this happen to me in the past...got a seat and then wanted GA or got GA and then wanted a seat.

ok, so basically LOL, i got GA tickets, but for some reason they have a row and seats... which are non exsistant?

so should i assume than, if i dont bring chairs, even tho said tickets HAVE a seat listed for me and my GF, i wont have chairs to sit down in...

thats actually pretty misleading if thats the case.

Seated sections are only available at the mane stage. The other stages are GA for everybody.

    well...
couple ideas.... there are people selling their reserved seats on another thread. You might get a really good deal right now. You can probably sell your GA seats for what you paid, maybe more.
GA seating is "festival"... lots of fun, noise, people and chairs. yes bring chairs, and blankets.
you will not be near the stage at all in GA....
but it's the experience...one of these years I will be in the VIP section....lol

i believe what you are telling me is the case. its really odd to me. i live just outside NYC and have been to ALOT of shows in NYC. no tickets ive ever bought for a GA show had a seat or row. just like, when going to say MSG or Nassau Coliseum for example, like when i saw White Zombie/Horton Heat, i had FLOOR tickets, and they said FLOOR-GA. no seat or row since on the floor there wasnt any.

honestly LOL it doesnt matter, but, i cant say that its not a little misleading.

    its all good LOL

i really appreciate the heads up tho. i think the main page for the festivak needs to be a little more detailed and offer some more info than it does.
