Thread: BBQ Competition Changes

    Default BBQ Competition Changes

Hey all, we are hearing that they are drastically changing the BBQ Competiton this year. It looks like they are moving it back to where it was the first year Stagecoach started...way back in the back where nobody knew where it was. Also they are cutting the competitors in half. If you would like to see the BBQ competiton in a more visable area like it has been the last two years then lets make some noise. Last year was the best competition ever and the biggest competition held in California.

Why put it in the back again? We actually made it to this years...by the time we found it last year, they were out of food.

And why cut it back? Maybe there were complaints of not enough testers per competitor? I did not see a lot of people tasting during the competition.

Yes, they definately need to promote it more, people would really enjoy it. If they would open it up in a horseshoe shape facing the crowd then at least all of you concert goers could see there was something there that might peak your interest.

Cooter PLENTY of people wander the grounds to the other stages, the beer gardens, the food booths, the shopping booths. I have not stayed in one spot ever. Judging by the crowds, people do walk the venue. If the "headliners" are on the mane stage that's where alot of us are. But I can tell you there are plenty big crowds at the side stages too, all weekend. The BBQ competition was great last year. Loved the samples. It was tricky to find the booths though.
Stagecoach isn't just a concert, it's an experience

I agree with festival fan. We always have reserved seats but are rarely in them during the day. We spend most of the day wandering around. The BBQ competion has never been clearly marked as to it's location. In the four years we have gone we have yet to get to it before the food is gone or the competition is over. Not this year though we plan on finding it first!!!

That would be the proposed plan for 2010

So does that mean that it is not going to be moved to the other end of the venue like year one?

The 2010 contest placement will be announced soon.
    What has been shared...
SC will have less teams than the record setting 59 in 2009

The comfort and safety of the Music Festival attendees is the top priority.
As attendance numbers continue to climb adjustments will be made in the site plan.
