Yes indeed I will be the Head Judge there
It is a sanctioned contest with teams coming in from all over the west.
Going for $10,000 in cash and awards.
Saturday and Sunday we will have Peoples Choice Ribs.
Both days our teams will cook for the IBCA Cook off.
They will do Half Chickens, Spare Ribs, Tri Tip on Saturday
Sunday Spare Ribs , Pork Shoulder and Beef Brisket.
There is room for two more teams.

Wow that sounds like a lot of fun. How close will the BBQ competition be to the main stage???? Would we be able to eat and see/hear real good from the eating area.
    What is People's Choice???

    What is People's Choice???
The BBQ Tent is probably 150yards from the stage
Peoples Choice is you decide who has the best Ribs by buying more from that team than another
The teams are fun folks who compete all over the west

Thanks THOM for the update. I was wondering who had won. One of my friends tried 3 different ones and said his favorite was one guy that had no signs or anything. He was wondering how he could have said "my vote goes for that one"? As our understanding is all 3 got a vote by the ticket bought. How does that work to show who's best if you dont know until you have tasted it?

    thanks

The one with no signs i THINK he said was an older guy but im not sure so dont quote me on that.

next year if/when we do this bbq competition again, lets talk again on the phone so i can relay this info on how the voting works to our website newsletter people, the website itself, etc.

Thanks for all your help with this. (also as a vegetarian, i would have loved to sample some vegetarian bbq but couldnt find any, i was really jealous because it smelled SOOOO good)
