Here's the biggest problem: They (Goldenvoice) price the seats in section 1 so expensive that most real country music fans either can't or don't want to spend that kind of money. So the outcome is exactly what my group saw:
We had tickets in Section 8, during Kenny we were able to work our way up to the standing area of section 5. Then a friend of ours who worked the event saw us and took us to a standing area of Section 1. We had 8 of us and we were having an incredible time, but I was looking around and it seemed like we were the only ones. We were singing along and I noticed we were getting dirty looks from some stuffy/pompous guy and girl in front of us who were just standing there like a couple of mannequines!!!
The point is, it seems like some of the people who pay the big $$ to be in the front row are only there for bragging rights, not so much for the music. I've got a friend of mine and his wife who always pay $1000's to sit in the front row from a ticket broker and ride to the concert in a limousine, but only ever talk about how much money they spent and not how great the concert was.
I thought Kenny was good, especially when he broke out some of his really old stuff, "Ordinary no, I really don't think so........."
Just my version of what I saw and experienced!!! Can't wait till next year!!!!
"She changed her mind when she couldn't change me..."
One thing I noticed was that early in the set (and right after he missed a few line to Keg in the Closet), Kenny was pointing to his mic and then looking to the side of the stage as if the mic wasn't working all the time. You could tell he was pretty pissed off. A few moments later, he had a new one and the problem was solved, although his band was too loud and did drown him out.
I saw him at Staples a year ago and he was really good there, but certainly didn't bring his A game this time, although it may not have been entirely his fault...
That is so awesome TC. Kenny is an amazing performer.....I enjoyed him! But Goldenvoice REALLY needs to do something about VIP seating. I know it's a money maker for them, but what about the real fans, who want to enjoy a great show, but can't afford the ticket prices? I personally know 4 people who had p1 tix...and all of them where comp'd. They only went because they had nothing else to do that day. What a waste. To many empty VIP seats......Get rid of half of them....push them back and have standing only in front of the Mane Stage. I know it's wishful thinking, but I truly enjoyed Sean Patrick McGraw and would have loved the chance to stand front stage, if only be for his performance..... OR they should just do away with VIP all together like Coachella.
[QUOTE=horsephotographer;48406]God is good my friend....
HEY, that's the Kenny poster I got at the pre-party!-- (it was given to me, but I donated to the cause)...the one against the tree...that's funny...it's also the "belt buckle" shot in the guess who contest
Stagecoach--a cluster fun of drama
Ok, sorry for three posts in a row...but are you kidding me? you blame the venue for booking Kenny after previous nights show??
This is Kenny's career!! He knew better. He has been to SC before. Come on! Don't make excuses for him.
Every artists books several nights in a row and now better than to get f'd up the night before another concert!! Many people paid good money just to see Kenny and they are the ones who pay HIS bills!! He should respect that!!![]()
QOUTE FROM LINA 224:::I enjoyed him! But Goldenvoice REALLY needs to do something about VIP seating. I know it's a money maker for them, but what about the real fans, who want to enjoy a great show, but can't afford the ticket prices?

I have take offense at the use of the words "REAL FANS"..... SO, if I spend the money for my family to be in the front, We are not REAL COUNTRY FANS.... LOL Sorry, it just doesn't make sense.. so that means that we spent all that money because we are what????? RAGGAE FANS.... ???? You HAVE a point that they were expensive.. but the people who bought them are not just throwing thier money away... they thought it was worth it! My family was front row last year and second and third row this year... AND it was worth every penny. My kids have the times of their lives at Stagecoach and we are DIE HARD STAGECOACH FANS!!!!!!!! So, for me, Stagecoach is PRICELESS! I just don't think that saying, only the "REAL FANS" don't or won't pay for P-1 or other reserved seating, is unfair. All of us spend our hard earned money to go to Stagecoach. No matter if it is General Admission or Front row... Just my take on things.
TC: Please don't take offense, I was definately not refering to you. You guys were awesome and from the pics looked like you had a great time just like we did (probably better, you got back stage)!! I was refering to some of the people we saw that didn't seem like they cared about the music!! They weren't singing, dancing or even moving for that matter!!!
We went to the CMA Festival in Nashville last year and the tickets were only $185 per person total for all (4) nights on the floor up front!! I know they are making money, why for the same basic seats does GV have to charge $500 - $800??? Obviously to people like you, I and others who appreciate the music it is still worth it, but there are some people who just can't do that kind of money! I just think they could make the reserved seating a little more affordable for everybody!
P.S. I've got (8) tickets in a row on the floor for the CMA Festival for all (4) nights I am going to sell. I'll take what I paid for them! $185 x 8 = $1,480 gets you and 7 friends on the floor for all 4 nights!! We had a blast last year, but as usual, I fronted the money to buy all the tickets and alot of my group can't go now!!
T/C is right, Stagecoach is priceless!!!

You go to CMA Fest too? Sounds like you're not going this year.
I have Gold Circle tickets for CMA Fest. We're talking first ten or fifteen rows here. They are $300 for the entire thing. They include all kinds of perks plus I'm guaranteed to get the same seats or better every year.
In light of this the VIP seating at SC is a complete rip off. If you compare the CMA lineup with what SC has to offer it absolutely pales. One night of CMA Fest is equal to two nights of SC. So SC is a warmup to CMA for me. And I'll never shell out the crazy big bucks for reserved seating that SC charges.
I wish more of you could make the trip to Nashville to experience CMA!
don't the performers at cma fest play for free, though? i thought i had heard that. get them to come to stagecoach for free and i'm sure tickets would be cheaper.
also, without the reserved prices ga probably would not have been so cheap, which is what made it possible for many to attend this year(for better or worse, haha).

TC- You took my comment out of context. "
My next line was...."I personally know 4 people who had p1 tix...and all of them where comp'd. They only went because they had nothing else to do that day. What a waste."
Maybe I was unclear in the way I wrote it. I meant no offense to anyone. More power to you if you can afford it. I was referring to the people who get comp'd and don't even enjoy what they are seeing. I know from experience how amazing a show can be when you are front and center. I had front row tixs to see Kenny, Dierks and Carrie Underwood about 2 years ago at the Home Depot Center in Carson. It was AMAZING and meeting them backstage was even better....(we even got some beer from his onstage bar LOL!)
I would love to be front and center for Stagecoach, but I could not afford it for me and my daughter. Maybe somedayIapologize and hope I helped clear it up for you.
