    Default Ticket Prices.

Well, I'm was all worried about a pop music hack like Kenny playing what is otherwise an excellent festival...but then I saw the ticket prices. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...I'll go somewhere else for my country, thank you. Heck, you add in the camping (which I was going to do) and the food and beverage rip-offs inside the festival...for two people you're looking at a $500 weekend. At those prices I doubt there will ever be a Stagecoach II.

Name another festival that didnt go through the same thing when it started and just decided to stop because a small percentage of people felt it was too pricey and not worth the risk? You underestimate Goldenvoice and what they are going to do.

Why is every post of yours (bluesbob) saying the same thing? We get it, you don't like the high prices or "pop" acts....get over it, or don't go, that simple.

I agree, all I've heard out of you (bluesbob) is negativity. Do us all a favor and call in sick for this show. Your such a buzz killer. I think for all the acts involved over the weekend, it's well worth the $500.00 I'm going to invest. You'd pay much more than that if you went to see them all individually.

The Merritt Mountain Music Festival in BC has similar prices and has big names but not as many performers. The camping is all on hard dirt. Over 200,000 people show up every year.

$500 for a weekend is pretty damn good. Get a part time job or something, then you'll be able to afford it. Either that or just sell the chip that came off your shoulder, it's big enough to fetch $500 on ebay for sure.

Quantity doesn't mean quality.. I'd pay the 500 bucks if the Pop artists weren't there.. seeing Willie, Kris Kristofferson, Earl Scruggs, Ricky Skaggs, Gary Allan and a few of the other non pop country artists is worth the bill.. Strait and Jackson would alright to see too but Chesney and gang are only on the bill to get as many pop fans there as possible so they can call the show a success.

I guess I just don't have a problem seeing/hearing the acts I like and passing up the ones I don't. Since it's not physically possible (at least in my view) to watch three or four stages at once, I honestly don't see the problem here... No one forces you to see every act at these types of festivals (it is usually not even possible to see every act). If you don't want to see a certain artist, DON'T. But why condemn the entire festival just because you're not a hundred percent in love with every single act?

No, it does not. But neither are you the arbiter of what constitutes quality.

I see... so the mere presence of Kenny Chesney on the grounds would prevent you from enjoying the performances of Willie, Kris, Earl, Ricky, et al? That's pretty unhealthy, really...

I wonder if a few lessons in economic theory (not to mention common sense) would lessen your negative outlook on life? These festivals cannot happen without paying customers.

Hey...$500 is NOT reasonable. I saw Willie last September for $20. Hank III cost me $20 also. The Earl Brothers was $15. Wayne Hancock was $12. All of these are great country musicians. When is everybody gonna wake up and say Bullsh*t to outrageous prices. The only reason the prices are so high is because of those egotistical faggots on the main stage.

Sorry... I'm having a little trouble with your math... for the four artists you listed, your average price per artist was $16.75. On the Stagecoach lineup, the average price at the GenAdmin level is $3.21 per artist; at the reserved seat level it is $7.56 per artist -- still less than half what you paid per show... even at the Gold Circle level, the price is $9.48 per artist, still considerably less that you paid over the last year. So, you could skip fully half the acts, and still have more bang for your buck at Stagecoach...

Thank you for breaking it down for "bluesbob". That way we can really see the absurdity of his "Too much money" comments. The truth is he's hiding behind the monetary issue, to spew his garbage about acts he doesn't like. I bet they wouldn't like him either.

1.) Never claimed to be the arbiter
2.) I will catch the real artists at another time. Not a single cent of mine will ever go to Chesney.
3.) Sorry, but I dont need any more classes on economic theory. This festival would have plenty of paying customers with artists like Willie, Kristofferson etc. on the bill.

How is Kenny Chesney not a "real" artist? How would someone sell that many albums and draw that many fans to his concerts if he was not "real?" How does this festival not have "real" artists that you will catch at another time? How would someone that is not a "real" artist get Entertainer of the Year? You don't make any sense!

And what did Kenny Chesney do to you to piss you off? Make a hell of a lot more money than you last year? Some people are so jealous it is sickening.
