sooooooooo, which way y'all going?...I like going thru Anza, drops right into Indio, but not the best route for huge rigs...215 always bottle necks, but ya get there & you get to see the dino's on the way...my RV goes fast, or maybe it's the driver...anyone want to caravan?...no biggie, just thought it'd be fun if we're all on the same road anyway...I can go anytime...

Mainly curious about the tent camping lines actually. My Girlfriend and I are planning on leaving Thursday afternoon....first timers hoping to learn from all ya'll expert types.

If you get there that early, you won't have any lines. Pull up to the table they direct you to for your wristband. Drive around the back to the parking lot (again, they direct you and when you see it it'll make sense), park and walk in. They take you to a spot and you set up.

Last year I got there at noon on Friday and there was no line and they field was about 3/4 full. But that was the day the fesitval started. You get there this year on Thursday and it doesn't start until Saturday, you're golden.

Jakesmom, me, tgcali, GeorgeStraitfan1 and BlueAngel25 say we are outta town by mid-day Friday.

okay, I get it, you want to go to Temecula, then over 79...I usually go Ramona, but your way is faster...I just never think of that way...such a boooooooooooring drive...but faster is better!...Anyone up for meeting in Esco on the I-15? The Mervyn's parking lot is empty, we can meet up there, easy on & off, central to I-15 & 78...it's called 9th Ave exit..I'd like to get on the road at 1?...I have to meet up w/my camping pals & they don't know when they'll be there, so I will be there & ready & of course, start on my fun time...ha ha...

LOL !!! yeah so my bad, I said 78 but I meant hwy 79, just past Temecula, then 371 North to Anza, then 74 east to the 111 - that's my route from the 15 out of SD.

Friday at 1 works for me at the Mervyn's!!!!

We're staying in the tent area and more interested in staying close to good people than being first in line....We will go what ever time puts us close to a fun crowd. Better idea would be meet up further down the road to catch those from all areas and then really caravan in together.
