I LOVE you tube. I work with people whom are way to young to remember the good stuff so it's much easier to just show them what they missed out on.

Poco with orginial members Rusty Young,Jim Messina and Richie Furay, along with Paul Cotton who joined Poco in 1970 has made this years's festival a must go for me.
When Poco was just starting out in the late 60's the band was gracious enough to let two struggling Sunset Strip musicians view their practice sessions....the two struggling musicians were Glenn Frey and Don Henley.
As most know, The Eagles recruited orginal Poco bassist Randy Meisner to join them....and when Meisner left The Eagles in 1977 they recruited Meisner's replacement in Poco Timothy B Schmit to replace him in the band...The on going joke is that current Poco bass player Jack Sundrud is waiting in the wings for Timothy to bolt The Eagles so he can take his place.

Poco is celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band this year. They are true pioneers, and they are as good now as they ever were. It's great that they are playing this festival.

    DesertMan,
They joke that it's in Jack's contract that he can't bolt to the Eagles. Jack is a great singer and writer.

click "reply post" on THIS page..then look at the upper right for a small icon that says You Tube, it is black and red...last icon on the right. You can click that and then paste the youtube addy in there I believe.

Yes Schradog, Crazy Love was written by Rusty Young and is taken from the Legend album that Poco released in November 1978. Paul Cotton was also a member of Poco on that release. Drummer/vocalist George Grantham, an original founding member of Poco (along with Rusty), was not part of the lineup for that album but came back to the fold in 1988 for the recording of Legacy. Other original members on Legacy are: Richie Furay, Jim Messina, and Randy Meisner (and Rusty Young).

Left to right in the video (singing): Paul Cotton, Rusty Young and George Grantham.

Pickin' up the Pieces is from their debut album of the same name released in 1969:

Richie Furay wrote Kind Woman right after Buffalo Springfield broke up and Richie and Jim Messina formed Poco in 1968:

These videos are taken from the Crazy Love DVD recorded live on stage in Nashville, TN in 2004.

Richie Furay and Jim Messina are not part of the current edition of Poco (though Richie makes a few apperances with the band every year) but they will both join the guys at the Stagecoach Festival!

    Great bunch of guys!

FYI Timithy Schmit has decided to join Poco for this historic musical moment. Once I heard that, I immediately bought a ticket. They are reportedly playing the Palomino stage at 4:40 on Sunday, Arpil 26th for all you Poco and Eagles fans.
