If you consider this a country music show, then you are really stupid. There hasn't been any real country music made since Ernest Tubb died. I count three acts on the entire Stagecoach bill that even approach anything decent. I weep for the future.

Ernest WHO?????? Dang your in denial
Then don't go to the concert!
Ernest was great!! But I think there are some great country music artists that are gonna be there. I'm really looking forward to seeing Ricky Skaggs again. This is gonna be great for many acts to get exposure. I can name several of them on the "smaller" stages that will really gain some fans. I'm sure there might be some fans that don't really care for the "bigger" acts but thats okay. Thats why I love festivals like this. Everyone will have a favorite to see.
Hope to see all of you there.
Agreed, this will be a fantastic opportunity to be able to see a wide range of performers. I can't wait to be blown away by a lot of the acts that are not on the main stage. What a treat to have access to all the different styles of music. I hope to see you guys there.
I agree with tdc1. You should widen your music angerball.

so if it don't fit your specifications, then it can't be music and people shouldn't listen to it?
What is TRULY sad is that you are missing out on some of the best, REAL country music ever made. Instead, you choose to listen to these slicked-up modern day singers who have nothing to do with REAL country music. You children should familiarize yourselves with Jimmie Rodgers, Bradley Kincaid, Frank Luther, Carson Robison, Gene Autry, Gid Tanner, etc. etc. Now THAT was some REAL country music! It was from a time when the music was true and not all about money. Today is the worst possible time in the history of the world for country music, so I am on a mission to teach today's "country" fans about the REAL THING!!! Please learn before it's too late!

So, basically what you're saying is that because YOU don't like the lineup and the fact that the world has some different country music singers now to when you grew up, it's not a REAL country music festival??
Whatever.
So the world hasn't seen any "REAL" country music since Ernest Tubb died? Well hey - lets dig him up and have a country music festival performed by corpses. That's a great idea.
Seriously - go find something productive to do. I'm sure most people here have heard of all the artists you've mentioned, but if they're dead what's anyone supposed to do? Sit indoors and never listen to new music because YOU don't like it?
Get over it. People die, new things come along......
Why did you take the time to register on this website and post this if you're not interested in attending the Stagecoach Festival? Personally, I'm not interested in attending Lollapalooza - so I'm not going to waste my time to go to their website and register just so that I can get on their message boards and spout off my OPINION about how much I think the lineup sucks and how crappy I think the bands are. There are obviously a lot of people who like the bands that are playing, and who are going to have a great time at Stagecoach this year -- if you're not one of them, go whine somewhere else. Get off the Stagecoach Message Boards. If you're not going to the festival, WHY are you on here?

Everyone just take a deep breath in.... and outgood job... everyones intitled to their own opinion
If this thread was based only on the main stage, I would completely agree. However, the other three stages all have quality acts. These sound like the ignorant rantings of someone who hasn't bothered to put the necessary energy into following good music. Go buy yourself a Sirius satelite radio, turn it to channel 63, and you'll learn an important lesson. Country music is alive and well, and Mojo Nixon is spreading the gospel to the world.
How dare you call me ignorant, son. That would have guaranteed a whuppin' back when I was your age. I won't buy a satellite radio just like I won't pay for television. It was free back in my day and it should be free now. GOOD MUSIC SHOULD BE FREE!! You children need to be exposed to REAL country music and that's why I'm here on this board. I am trying to spread the word and show you all the way. Listen to Milton Brown! Listen to Gene Autry! Listen to Bill Boyd! Listen to Roy Acuff! You'll be amazed at what you're missing out on! If it was good enough for my daddy, it should be good enough for you! LISTEN TO REAL COUNTRY MUSIC!! KEEP IT ALIVE!!!

How Sad you are angerball there is a guy around message boards named ACE IN PEAR BLOSSEM WHO SAYS MANY THINGS BAD LIKE YOU. So If the country music singers you like are on the radio stations still ,what station are they on? You live in the past because you cant handle the future or the now. I am sure you will tell me Hank Williams JR was not real country. I can agree that a lot of the new country music is not what the old stuff was. But take a look at Hank Sr and Jr they are two differnt types of country. You are a sad sad person that has nothing better to do then try to piss people off. You say you won't pay for television or music. Why do you pay for internet service? Maybe it is the fact that your life is not what you wanted it to be? I dont know I don't know you. But a lot of this new country is what our lives our about these days. Not the days of Gene Autry. Thank about it Anger we are the future and the now. So Sad you have to come on here and beat on people. God bless you and our Marines
gene autry was a poser, a wannabe.
johnny cash, merle haggard, buck owens, willie nelson, hank williams and lucinda williams aren't on your list. i guess they aren't real country acts.
neko case has one of the best voices around and she, to me, is "real" country.
The only one I'd take note with is Willie Nelson, a failed rocker. He plays one mean guitar though, I'll give him that.
I understand where Angerball is coming from. I grew up country. It's the only thing I listened to until I got drafted and went to Nam. Tubbs was/is a great country western artist. He comes from a simpler day. When values ment more.
There are some great country acts out there today. My wife and I have gone to many good concerts over the years and a couple not so great. Both of us have commented on todays "Rockabilly" music. Angerball is right when he says it's not country, pure country, cause it aint.
Get mad if you like, it won't change the truth of the music at all. We figure the pop artists are moving into country western because their own genre has dried up. There simply isn't the market for pop that there used to be and they have to go somewhere to perform.
While I agree with Angerball, I'd like to challenge him to stay away from the mainstage. Go to the three lesser stages and just see the fine country acts that show up. Country western is still out there Angerball, you just have to look harder to see it.
Oh yeah, one last thing. I agree TV and radio aught to remain FREE!
I'm a fair man, so I will address the artists you mentioned:
HANK JR: You've got to be kidding. Hell no, he ain't country!! He's hard rock!
JOHNNY CASH: Not country. A failed rock and roller who went country to pay the bills.
MERLE HAGGARD: He had his moments but REAL country acts don't record entire tribute albums to Elvis Presley.
BUCK OWENS: One of the first to incorporate screaming, hard rock guitars into his "country" music. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!
WILLIE NELSON: That pothead? Get real!
HANK WILLIAMS: Much like Haggard, he had his country moments. A REAL country singer would never write songs that had enough pop appeal for Tony Bennet to record. Johnny Bond sure didn't.
LUCINDA WILLIAMS: Once again, it's all a marketing ploy. She couldn't make a living singing folk, so they made her "country." She's Pete Seeger in a dress.
NEKO CASE: Ditto.
I will thank SIRPIPPEN for his support. As for the rest of you: Listen to Louise Massey! Listen to Elton Britt! Listen to Teddy Powell! Listen to
Al Dexter! Wise up before it's too late!! KEEP REAL COUNTRY MUSIC ALIVE!!
I'm smarter than you.
