Kenny Chesney in San Diego: A Heads Up

For those heading to Kenny Chesney at Cricket Wireless this Thurs:

If you didn't already hear, the parking situation for the Police show on Monday was an absolute NIGHTMARE! And it wasn't due to holiday traffic or high attendance it was due to lack of traffic and parking control. They were only allowing cars in through 1 entrance instead of 2 and the few people they had to direct the parking had no idea what they were doing. I had friends and co-workers go to the show and every single one of them MISSED the SHOW ENTIRELY because it took almost 2 HOURS to GET IN THE PARKING LOT!!!! There was a line to get in even as the Police were singing there ENCORE!!!

Just thought I'd let people know incase you're one of those types that shows up a little late to miss the opening act...I would hate for anyone to have their Kenny show ruined because of crappy parking management!!! Hopefully they worked it out and we can just sit in the parking lot and enjoy a few beers be fore Kenny kicks off the summer for us!!!

Me too! I HATE to miss the tailgating!! But from what I am hearing, this was REAL bad....one of my co-workers arrived near the venue (maybe a mile away) at 8PM (ticket said show started at 7:30-she didn't care to see the opening act) and didn't get in til almost 10PM!!! She was standing in line for her refund and there was still a line of cars waiting to get in?!?!? How is that even possible?? You would think if you show up over 2 hours late for a show, there would no longer be a line to GET IN to the lot!!

*HEAVY SIGH* why didn't i pick the staples show? can you just imagine... if that's on the way IN, what the way OUT is going to be like.

Great they refunded, but what the heck...you spent money, time, anxiety, the thrill of looking forward to seeing someone, and you get shut down? I know, I know, show up earlier, but come on, they should be able to park you in a descent time...look at B-ball games..they get you in and out ASAP, hire more staff.

Well it is notorious for its horrible EXIT after shows but from what I hear from friends/coworkers and read on the local news pages, this was above and beyond normal congestion trying to get into a packed show....sounds like with the sponsor turnover (Coors to Cricket) they didn't hire good parking lot staff..I have heard a couple of accounts of lot attendants almost getting hit because they had no reflective safety vests on!!!
