I really enjoyed Bucky -- he was high energy and had a great band. He also did a great job on the songs from his CD. I enjoyed his covers of Fogerty and Pink Floyd and thought he performed very well.

My friend that was with me is a drummer and he stated that Bucky's drummer was one of the best he's ever seen.

I like Bucky. He has a lot of energy. I saw him last year in Tx at an event called the 12 man jam, had alot of big stars. He is so humbled with where he is at. I really think he appreciates to be where he is unlike some artist that act like they should be there.

Maybe Bucky doesn't have enough of his own songs yet and that's why he threw in a couple of covers. Coverbands rule the rock world. Either that or the reviving by bands of songs that once made them very famous.

Remember, he's new and maybe it was deternmined that he didn't have enough unique material that was worthy of filling a set. Many people want to hear hits at concerts, not the obscure songs that are not given mega air play. Some people complain about it when they don't hear the big songs and record companies demand that they play certain songs. I saw Clint Black in Vegas once, and he explained that they are required to play certain songs to promote their album even if they don't want to. The Vegas venue allowed him to play his favorites, many not well known to the masses. Next time Bucky comes back, he might likely not include as many covers if any.

No problem. I would recommend you see your favorite artists in a smaller venue if given the opportunity. Such a different experience and different vibe. It's much easier to connect with the audience too. Vince Gill at The House of Blues, excellent, Vince Gill on a bigger stage, maybe more opportunity to have one of those 'off nights' that will earn him a 'sucked' label. LOL

Thats a very good point zoo. The Greek is on of my fav's and now of course Nokia Theatre.

My only problem is that I'm not a big fan of the House of Blues. My boss has played at both. No seats and the Hollywood location smells like throw-up. Although good food at the Anaheim location.

I actually liked that everyone did a cover. I work with punk/rock bands all year so to hear some classics was nice.

However, the fact that Bucky covered a CCR song the day after John Fogerty did it the night before I thought was tacky. Do covers, just don't do them the night after the original... silly boy

LMAO!! It's been a while since I've been to the Hollywood one, so I'll take your word on the throw-up thing. I know what you are talking about with the no seats though. Me feet just ain't as young as they used to be. I can't do it all the time, but once in a while. Go smaller than Greek or Nokia if you can. Take a trip to Vegas in early December when the rodeo is in town and catch some of the country artists that play in the small venues (with seats) at that time. Saw Clint Black that way. Sat so close my gf and I just couldn't get over how tight his T-shirt and jeans were. Saw Alabama too, and lead singer actually walked the audience and came within two feet of me.

Know what you mean. I spend a lot of time at rock shows these days, and was looking forward to catching at least one day (Friday) of Stagecoach to throw myself back to some country and classic rock tunes, but just too much going on. Hopefully next year!!

I saw George Strait at the mirage on the same stage he used in Pure Country, now that was awesome! NFR is definatley a place to see some great venues.

How could he not know, John's been on the bill for a while? I just think it's disrespectful. I'm sure the band knows another cover song they could've done to replace the CCR song. It just felt wierd to me.
