    Default BBQ Cookoff

Rate your favorite BBQ vendor!! Anyone know who won the various contests and their categories? I know who my favorite was. Thanks again for great food this year, Mike aka AZ BBQ!

This is horrible because I can't remember the name of the group that I gave my winning ticket to. As you enter the vendor group they were to the left and about 4 booths in. Best BBQ pulled pork and beef I've EVER had.

I don't know about you but I was stuffed. Everyone was so generous with their "tastes". We ended up going home with extra tickets after eating BBQ for 3 days.

AZ BBQ had the best (spiciest) chili. But my votes went to Tropical Heat for having, by far, the hottest BBQ sauce around. MMMMMM!

I was looking forward to the chili, but I only found two places that had any on Sat

By Sunday most of the vendors were sold out.. My husband and I walked around to the others that were left and gave our votes to the sausage guys.. They had the best BBQ sauce.. That could be the one usc voted for... not sure.. It was spicy... And we all know that it's the BBQ sauce that makes the meat taste better..

That just means that the festival was better attended this year than last and that's a good sign. Better up the up on your estimate for next year because word will spread if the gig was a success. Y'all are making me hungry, and I have to sit through a parent meeting on Washington D.C. before I'll get any grub.

    Thom,

I'm curious on all the winners of the BBQ contest? Who took home the 30k?

The $30,000 was split in a prize pool
Example 10th place Brisket on Saturday was worth $100
    1st place Saturday Brisket $1000
Sug Shack won the Grand Championship
They were parked on the end of the teams line
    near the Craft Beers Tent

4Q won the Peoples Choice both days

People's Choice was actually won by AZBarbeque by more than double on Sunday and we thank all of you for coming out and tasting our BBQ and helping us to win that honor. Due to some promoter miscommunication, our votes were not counted, but we had more than double what the other team did. Completely Unfortunate as the rest of the weekend was incredible.

We really enjoyed talking with everyone who stopped by and getting to know you all a bit better.

We even had the local Police and Fire departments come by all weekend for lunch and dinner, so that was a great honor for us as well.

Great times and thanks for all the kind words..

Did you at least find our Booth? It would have been hard to miss, it was one of the most decorated ones out there. (We took 3rd Place on Best Booth as well.)

Sorry we missed you, hope you still got to taste some great BBQ out there..
