Me and 4 of my friends are planning on going to this festival and camp in our RV. However 2 of my friends will not be of 18 years of age. Can they still camp with us if the rest of us are over 18 years old? Or do we need to have a "legal guardian B.S." with us?
Are they legally responsable for you? If you get into an accident and are rushed to a hospital are they legally authorized to make decisions regarding your medical treatment?
I have a sample Power of Attorney (POA) form for such matters. I am NOT an attorney nor am I giving counsel to anyone on these matters and I would highly recommend that such matters be discussed with your own attorney. However, I am familiar with the use of POA's and have done so many times when I give authority to someone to act on my behalf with the necessary power and authority granted to them for a specific action (or actions) and as often as not, only for a specific timeframe (e.g., the duration of a musical festival).
Frankly, and with no intentional or hurtful disrespect, I don't think a 19-year old is a suitable guardian for themself, let alone others. (I was 19 once and my comment applies equally to the 19-year old me... probably more so in fact now that I remember...)
Happy to deliver the sample. Send me a private message and e-mail address to send it to. Again, I do this with the caveat and understanding that I am not an attorney, I am not giving legal advise, and I am not aware of the rules or requirements of the music festival organizers with respect to these matters which govern in all respects.
