Just returned from year 2 at Stagecoach and have to say that I can't conceal my disappointment with this year's event. Our weekend started by being displaced from our bought and paid for spot WITH HOOK-UPS in El Dorado 1. We were moved to International with the excuse from the Stagecoach employees that the police had shut down El Dorado 1 due to fire lane issues. We learned later that the lot had not been parked correctly starting on Wednesday night when it opened--it turned into a free for all with people moving and parking wherever they pleased. The camping refund we received did us little good as we were unprepared to be without hook-ups all weekend long--food, gas, a/c, etc. Later, we walked through El Dorado 1 and saw that the place was wide open. Took a picture of 1 RV using 3 spaces--one for his rig, one for his bar, and the third for his game of ladder golf. What I can't understand is Goldenvoice's complete unwillingness to assert some of their (ultimate) authority and move these people so the 40 or 50 of us who were displaced could get our rightful spots that we purchased--not cheaply either! We were told by them that people were being uncooperative and wouldn't move. Tow them, then, or put a boot on their RV and have them deal with it on Monday when they try to leave. Additionally, security was basically a total waste this year--we were given Mane Stage (allegedly) 'all access' wristbands to compensate for our RV displacement--but, the rules constantly changed regarding access for those wristbands. In fact, by Sunday, we were no longer permitted to use the VIP restrooms that, again, we BOUGHT and PAID for with our reserved seating. Complete lack of consistency all weekend long. I was so impressed with the venue last year that this year was a complete disappointment--right down to the toilet paper being empty in the restrooms by 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon when the gates didn't even open until 3:00 p.m. I reallly hope they get a handle on all of this for next year or this will be just another case of greed and size getting out of control and making a good thing go bad for no other reason than lack of organization and control.
