Thread: TENT SIZES

    Question TENT SIZES

OK they say 7x7 is 50 sq ft per person. 100 sq ft for 2 people and so on... but on the tents in the store they dont give the size in total sq ft. Its 12 ft wide by 10 ft long and 6 ft high. Will that work for 2 people or is it to big??

Well the dimensions you have given equals 720 cubic feet, that is the total area inside the tent, keep in mind if either of you are over 6 feet tall you will have to hunch over. Your total floor space is 120 square feet, that’s about 60 square foot per person, should be more than enough room for two to fit comfortably. Remember to bring that air mattress though nobody likes sleeping on the ground.

so that is 20 sq ft to much. I cant find any tent smaller unless its a tent for kids or a pup-tent that we wont fit in. Do you think they will send us packing with our tent. or make us buy one of theirs.

I think if it was only a tiny bit bigger you would be ok. I have a 7x7 and it sleeps 3 (but really I think 2 is better).

Look at the Big5 ad in todays paper they had a bunch of tents on sale.

Country girl explained it like this a while back on a different thread:
The space you are given is 8ft by 8ft per forum ticket.
So if there are 2 people with 2 forum tix you get a space that is 8ftx16ft.
