THEY CHECK FOR BOOZE IN CARS & @ campground????!!

someone told me they check for booze in ur car and when u go into the campground with ur things... does that mean you cannot bring in a cooler full of beer.. because they check it? what can you bring into the camp ground and if they do check does anyone know how hard they check.. or is it just some kids doing the checking??

I'm not sure who told you this but people walked around with cases of beer in the campground area last year. Some people were riding bikes with cases of beer on their shoulders. I'm guessing you didn't go last year.

lol no i was not able to make it... and this year im stuck in the camp ground with a tent cause i got my tickets way late... any tips for a first timer lol

I'm stuck in the tent area too but I know some people in El Dorado 1. Just pack your beer in your car/truck then pack the cooler with ice at a grocery store when you get to Indio. Roll into the parking area and unload your stuff. Bring some red cups too. People have partys all over the camp before and after the concert. I was in El Dorado 1 last year and we partied with the cops after the concert when they got off duty. There was one cop that stayed in our trailer last year. It was a lot of fun. I was worried about all the rules etc.. last year but it is a really laid back festival and the most fun you can have. The cantina will be going off on Thursday night. It was a huge party last year on Friday night. I think I had more fun parting friday night than I did the rest of the nights. People are all excited to be there and there's no concert so people party all day and night. It's a huge tail gate party.

The earlier the better. I'm getting there Thursday afternoon/night. I got there Friday night last year and the RV park was half full. People were rolling in all night and when I woke up Saturday it had filled up pretty fast. My guess is some people will not be going to the Friday show for $$$ and scheduling isues etc... so Thursday should be a good time to get there and Friday A.M. should be okay too. Definately don't want to be showing up Friday afternoon.

Last year was cool. We didnt really have a problem about bringing it in, as long as you put it in a cooler, or bad, or something like that. Just dont be stupid about it and wave it in the air.
