If you've won a rodeo, go ahead and rock the big belt buckle on special occasions.
Otherwise, there's simply no excuse for a belt that you can use as a sled in winter.
I don't wear cowboy boots or hats either. Why? because I'm not a cowboy. I'd just as soon wear an astronaut suit.
I don't see people who like opera music running around sporting horned viking helmets.
This kind of stuff is poser douchebaggery at it's finest.
I don't think you under stand its not just about the music its more of a life style then a fashion statement. Me i where boots every day because there conferable and i where a cowboy hat because it provides better shade than a ball cap and its conferable. I listen to country music because i like it but i also listen to classic rock but i do it wearing my boots and my hat. I grew up ridding horses and going to rodeos i also have friend who have never owned a horse but wear the boots and hats because its conferable. Ive never won a belt buckle but my dad has and the one i wear was given to me by my dad. buy your statement i shouldn't wear it because i didn't win it? this just doesn't make sens that's like saying well your not a diamond dealer or a jeweler so why do you have jewelry on. come on use your head :cool::cool:
Many people wear things that they don't actually do themselves. So should people not wear baseball caps if they don't play baseball? Tennis shoes of they don't play tennis, ski jackets if they don't ski?
Hats, belts and boots come from the days our ancestors. Plowing the fields, keeping the snakes off of them with their boots and the sun out of their faces with their hats. Buckles had initials or ranch names.
I have my buckle and hat, as well as boots and I wear them "comfortably" and proudly.

UKNOWME: You grew up riding horses, you get a pass. You actually participated in the activity the attire respresents.
Kymery: The rule doesn't apply to women as they spend their entire lives playing dress-up. Feel free to flaunt proudly.
GPS: I rest my case.
In the meantime, I just found out my grandfather used to do some deep sea diving. I'm off to put on my wet suit and head to work!
For the record: I will NEVER get tired of seeing this thread 'pop' back up. Just so you know GPS.
For the gents...
