Re: Stagecoach 2013 Passes
Just curious, Countrygurl. Does anyone know how many festival passes have been sold for SC13 so far?
Re: Stagecoach 2013 Passes
it's pretty close to last year at this time.

Are we approaching a sell-out event? I have to admit I didn't buy my ticket yet... just spreading out the funds a bit :) But I don't want to miss out on tickets.

P1 tickets available with a package for 2 at the La Quinta, will cost you around $3900. When I priced it out individually it was only about $400 more than I paid putting my stuff all together myself.
ONLY 400 more? That's quite a bit if you ask me. But then again, you didn't ask me. =o)
Re: Stagecoach 2013 Passes
Living Social has a ticket deal for SC. That means to me that they are hurting.

Living Social is somewhat of a new marketing company. The ticket deal went up the same day that ticket sales started so this "new" marketing tool had to have been in the works for a while before ticket sales even started.

The deal didn't go up until late the 23rd. Passes went on sale on the 20th. It is very possible that they had planned on having this as a living social deal weeks ago. But if that is the case, then they also planned on sales being way, way down!! A deal like this would have been out of the question with how fast passes were selling last year.
IMO this was all a plan to cancel SC. The festivals profit will drop and possibly fall into the red this year. This will allow AEG to cancel SC. This was probably a handshake agreement with the city to allow them to keep 2 Coachellas. I very well could be wrong but, everything seems to be pointing in that direction.

you're pretty wrong on everything you said above.

Maybe you received your living social notice on the 23rd but all over facebook are people that posted the deal on the 20th. One post was before noon. One of the reasons why you don't know the count of ticket sales from the first day is that last year they offered a DISCOUNTED pass price for the first (I think) 5000 general admission passes and then a price increase after another batch and then it was at the regular price of 199.00 plus fees. This year no discount at the ringing of the bell.
So with your theory, Goldenvoice was worried about ticket sales last year from the beginning. LOL
Why does AEG need to ALLOW to have Stagecoach to be cancelled?
I'm confused on your theory that the City of Indio wants two Coachellas and no Stagecoach and Goldenvoice/AEG wants that too? I mean if you don't want to have a festival, then just don't have it. You don't need to go to all kinds of lengths to MAKE a business fail in order to cancel it.
Re: Stagecoach 2013 Passes
Rose- good point. Nonsense about structuring it in order to cancel. I think they have it planned exactly the way they want it. The camping will be smaller but easier to control. Festival passes will be the same or more in volume. People will be staying more in the communities where they will spend more money than if they were all in the camping area. And despite all the angst from those that aren't going, it will be a great festival. I'd like to see a new thread started by those that ARE going - to talk about how much fun we will be having.
Re: Stagecoach 2013 Passes
With P2 passes still available and I'm sure a TON of GA passes available, it looks as if SC will be a financial disaster for Goldenvoice. Great job on destroying a great thing.

Looks like smaller beer lines this year. Yaaaaa Hooooo
Re: Stagecoach 2013 Passes
GV doesn't need the money. I'd settle for a smaller crowd. All the whiners are going elsewhere - not sad about that.

It's not a matter of needing the money or not. The reason for the festival is for GV or AEG to turn a profit. If they don't turn a profit, then they cancel the festival. This is what I said when they came out with all the new rules. I will be very surprised if there is a SC next year. If there is one, it will be because they went back to the rules of last year.
Source: common sense.

I'm not so sure. This will be my 5th or 6th year, and the first two, never sold out (camping or GA tickets). I remember you could buy ED1 camping the day of the event. i also can assure you they made money, lot of money, those years. I think this year will be no exception.
The only thing for sure, is we'll all have to wait and see how it pans out.

They will be just fine this year.
Re: Stagecoach 2013 Passes
I am looking for a P1 ticket to purchase. We have GA tickets and parking pass, however, due to a back inury, I need an assigned seat. I'd like to purchase a P1 ticket if anyone knows anyone that has ONE for sale. All the 3rd party vendors want ou to purchase at least 2. Thanks for passing on any info you may have re availability.
