Didn't camping sell out within a couple hours? Layaway included? I sure hope they rethink using Frontgate again. What a fiasco that was.
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
I thought I saw the clear plastic squirt top bottles at the merch booth? I have one but opted to bring my own with a Brita filter inside :)
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
Overall my experience in car camping was awesome. I ended up not drinking during the weekend except for bottle after bottle of water! My only complaint was the distance between everything and now I understand why people bring bikes! The group we were camping with were awesome. Karena, Rachel, James, Yvonne, Nick, Jeremy, Brittney, Kathy, and all the others that right at the moment I can't remember your names. I hated leaving on Sunday but it is what it is. Thank you all for making a new experience one that I will remember forever. I still say that Country Music Fans are the Best and that weekend proved it over and over to me!

It was nice meeting you too. Can't wait till next year!
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
OK... Here is my complaint list... Hope it helps.
1. The parking control still really doesnt have it together. Each person only knows his location and the comunication between them is not good. When my wife showed up on friday afternoon, i told her of the "drop off" area (lot 4a i think) I said just tell them your dropping off stuff for camping in ED1 and you will later park in the companion lot. (like others were doing). I stood there waiting with the wagon for about 20min after she called and she was on madison and 50th. So she called me back and said they forced her to park in the companion lot because they were fillling spots and there was no such thing as a drop off area. Needless to say i had to drag her crap an extra 3/4 mile because parking staff. When i finally met my wife, I said to her... "OK.... just so you know, this walk is about 2 miles long and will be the worst part of your weekend. Everything past this walk is going to be aswome!!!" Solution... Have the staff drive around in a golf cart for 20 min with someone and actually get familiar with the property. I feel like after one day there, i know the area better than the people who work there! Every year I end up educating the "staff" somehow.
2. Another service that could be added to the camping/RV section would be a "handyman". Someone with tools and a sign that could go around and help people fix their stuff. I ended up helping about three neighbors things with some basic tools. They were extreemly gratefull and their weekend would have been a lot worse without it. I called it my good deed for the day and ended up fixing two RV water pumps, One ladder golf game, and a battery powered wheelchair.
3. Speed limit for golf carts. Some of these guys with golf carts would friken whiz by just inches from our camp. Kinda scary when your not paying attention. I screemed at one guy to slow down and he stopped and started to back up like he was gunna yell at me, then 25 of our neighbors (one with a kid) all stood up and he put it in forward real quick and never came back.
4. Water down the side isles... They did good at watering down the center isle, but the side isles got a lot of traffic too and lots of dust was created by foot and vehicle traffic.
5. ICE CREAM TRUCKS!!! Hey, heres an idea... Wanna make some money!!! how bout a couple ice cream trucks cruising around the campgrounds. If I see one next year, i want free ice cream for the idea!!!
6. Finally, my entrance security story... When I got up to line they told me to empty my pockets on that little table. So i did... Camera, phone, can of chew, pack of smokes, lighter, cash, wifes phone, and folded up map. I turned around for the backwards frisk and when i turned back around my stuff was gone. In a very deap and extreemly loud voice i shouted "wheres my f*cking sh!t!!!!" to the guy who just frisked me... He was completely scared and didnt know what just happened. Just then the next guy in line pointed at the ground and then pointed at the next security gaurd and said that he picked up the table when my back was turned and dumped everything off to clear it for his next person in line. I looked at him and said "what the f*ck where you thinking" and he just stared at me and said "im sorry". I told him to pick up everything from the ground and count my money out infront of me before i move on. By this time i got the attention of the head security and was in the middle of explaining everything to them when they handed me all my stuff in one giant handfull and told me to move along. I laughed it off and walked past them and very carefully checked all my stuff. I still dont know what that guy was thinking when he saw a table full of personal stuff and decided to dump it on the ground. Oh well... I got all my stuff back and that was the worst of my problems all weekend, which is pretty damn small.
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
^^^Whew, that was exhausting!^^^
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
My two complaints:
Make the ground softer so I don't end up with blisters on my feet...again
Either put tracking devices on my friends or give me a personal security guard while inside the venue so I can find everyone. Although I do always have fun meeting new people inside to hang out with.
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
Kuzn edy, I agree with watering down the rv camping isle from time to time. I thought they did in years past. An ice cream truck would be big bucks!!! It might be worth getting into the business just for the weekend.
My pet peeve and it happens every year is don't hire some fool who has never driven a motorhome or pulled a trailer and likely may not even have a valid CDL try and tell me how to back up into a spot. I watched these guys jack up the entire parking process all morning long. Just point the way and let us do the work. After waiting 2 hours just to get into the campsite with "employees" not having a clue how to control traffic, or get rvs through the security check point in a fair consistant manner, PLEASE don't get in the way of me swinging into a spot and cracking open a cold one.
I do have to say, I loved the standing room in the venue, it really did keep the too intoxicated and late, headling groupees from cramming in. I think all were happy with that.
If I had to chose one thing to fix, it would be the ticket buying process this year. It really sucked the most!!!
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
oh, I forgot to mention I could do without the female security screening person (from camping into the venue) who thought it was ok to lift and squeze my ta tas!! None of the other screeners did that, this was a bad apple for sure. Thanks to the girl behind me who saw and told her how inappropriate that was and even told the so called supervisor behind the line. In the end nothing was done but it was nice that someone spoke up.
Re: A few things that may need to be addressed for 2013
I too had the female security person feel a little too high and firmly in the chest area. That was weird and I was too surprised to say anything. And I'm in the AARP age bracket.... Really, what was I going to try to hide there?

And you fixed our bikes! :D

Hahahaha! Were you not there when I was writing "A6" with a Sharpie on the inside of everyones arms, in case they got lost in the venue? I totally did that, LOL!

I *believe* it's illegal unless they are an actual officer of the law, to perform that in depth of a search. I think that all security needs to be informed of this.

I'm sure I was already lost by then. Please buy me a dog tag for next year, that's a brilliant idea!

Should be two services. One "handyman" and the other a bona fide mechanic. I am neither but was fixing awnings and generators more than I would have liked. They should have a tent in the camping area, like they do for the Locksmith.

i saw a guy at Stagecoach walking around with a shirt like that.......saying "hi, my name is ______________, if i am too drunk to remember anything, please return me to _________________" and you could write your name on it along with where you were staying!!!
