Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
Anyone else on Weight Watchers?
This is my 5th Stagecoach but i think its my first where im really going to be paying attention to what im eating all weekend. Luckily, i don't drink, cause that would be all my points in liquid form.
The thought of purchasing every meal for 3 days from a vendor makes me a little nervous, and there are soo many tasty treats i dont get a chance to try anywhere else.
Any ideas on how to let go & have a good time, without sabotaging all the hard work i've put in? Can you think of any food stations from previous years that have healthy-ish choices?
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
You can bring pre-packaged WW snacks to keep on hand during the festival... whole grain Goldfish are really good too - you can have about 50 for 4 pts! I'd pack snacks that don't need to be refrigerated, plus almonds/mixed nuts, Fiber One bars (the 90 cal ones are 1 pt!). And at the vendors booths, you can always go for BBQ chicken, beef skewers, corn... stuff that you can look for the point values of before hand. I'm also on it (but slacking BIG TIME) so maybe I'll take your lead and pre-plan my snacks and meals. Good luck and don't forget your anytime points are there for a reason ;) Enjoy yourself but don't go crazy. Maybe stay on track really well during the week so you have all your extra points to enjoy at the festival.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
will a few days really set you back that much? just let loose and have fun without worrying too much. you can still eat healthier without having to scrutinize every minute detail of what you are eating.

From my experience, its isn't the couple days that set you back. Its the aftermath of letting go and having no limits for a weekend. The rest of the next week you feel like crap and its much easier to slip back into unhealthy habits. I really commend you for sticking to a healthy lifestyle change and trying to stay in control over the weekend. Your body will thank you for it, I'm sure.
I... will start up my healthy eating/drinking on the Tues back. But that's because I drink. A lot.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
i didn't really put much thought about food while i'm there. i'm a drinker so there won't be much tracking on my side haha. i'm sure they will have at least one vendor with semi reasonable food. i hope. but taking snacks is a smart idea. i didn't know they let you take them in.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
nope, no bringing snacks in. i know i'll be hitting a grocery store for some fruit & veggies to keep at the campsite, along with some nuts, pretzels, granola bars, pouches of tuna and beef jerkey.
I just have to watch out for the sno cones, turkey legs, hot dogs, nachos, churros etc. Plus after 10pm, my ability to resist temptation goes way down
56 lbs down so far and i get to wear some cute little dresses this year. I gotta keep reminding myself im way hotter than funnel cake.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
I'm sure they have a vegetarian vendor, that's alot better then the other vendor's there.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
Just eat some of my homemade pig candy. According to the SPKemo Food and Drug Administration (or the SPKFDA) it has 0 points.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
pretty much all pig-rendered edibles are the best. and if the SPKFDA says it, it must be true.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
Last year I think I found the only booth that actually had lettuce in the festival, it was in a wrap and super good.
Do they consider ice cream the "vegetarian choice":D
Looks like there maybe more food choices this year (I hope so)
Maybe those points are better used for beverages

They actually didn`t have funnel cake last year. I looked all over for it. So maybe one less thing to worry about. You just gotta worry about the other things like cheesecake on a stick and bacon wrapped meatballs:eek: btw, congrats on the 56 lbs!
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
CHEESECAKE ON A STICK???! How did I miss this last year! Holy balls. Just added that to the Adventures list.
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
I'm not bringing a lot of food. Just beer and Quervo. But, I'm planning on doing a lot of dancing and jumping around so I know I'll be burning calories!
Re: Weight Watchers & Stagecoach
Yea, I need to check out some of the food around the camp ground and in the festival. Usually I just stick to what I bring but from what it looks like, there are some great options out there.

Just wanted to say how awesome it is sticking to it on this very difficult weekend. It only takes, what is it, 7 times of doing something before it becomes a habit. So yeah, it's not the letting loose for a weekend that hurts, it's being able to get back on track afterwards. I know this, because I currently only have a few things that still fit me after the past few months of no self-control!
