Getting a good spot on the lawn
Last year I was about 20 people back in line when the gates opened for Stagecoach Day #1. When we got inside, the entire middle section all the way back was completely full of chairs, blankets, etc.
So what's the best strategy to get a seat in the middle fairly close?
Thanks!

Split your friends up and go to the different entrance gates. Whichever they open up early just run and try and get a spot. I've never gone early to put stuff down, I just kind of roam around and try and get a good view from the side.

Our group purposely doesn't want the front, lol. It's sooooo crowded and eventually becomes standing (and shoving) room only. About half of our group got close one year and they ended up coming towards the back to sit with us about halfway through because it was so cramped. Further back you have some room, sooo much better!
Re: Getting a good spot on the lawn
I like to sit right behind the barrier in the second section back. Security keeps people moving on the walkway so no one stands in front of you and no one pushes from behind.

You are welcome to sit with us this year. Our group spreads out in a particular area normally. It's nice having such a big group because our spot is easy to find, somebody is typically always there if you wanna leave your stuff and run out, and you don't have to worry about room, because everyone surrounding us, we know!

Done and done. Most years I have a few people I know that go to Stagecoach but that I don't camp with, but this year NONE of my friends are going. Its weird!

Nice... I was the wasted guy that kept waving my shirt in the air.... or so they tell me. There will not be an encore of that performance, trust me.

In my defense I apparently didn't start doing that until Kenny sang "No shirt, No shoes, No problems" Rumor is, I also didn't STOP singing that all night over all the other songs. But I think that's just lies ;)
