f that song, f it hard with a chainsaw. it is the. most. retarded. song. i. have. ever. heard.
ranks right up there with that bait a hook song.
damn, am i admitting to actually listening to some country music?
The video definitely helps!!!
HEY...I just turned on CMT and guess whats on...Red Solo Cup! The video is funny.
^^^haha. Star Wars image.
Umm. I love country but, Toby Keith is a D-Bag. I really feel he was picked on as a kid and that's why he tries to pretend he is such a badass now. He is a bitch.
was afraid to say anything like that about him for fear of being classified as a terrorist and un-american. he def. seems to pander to a certain crowd.
Toby is ok.. Put it this way i wouldnt go out of my way to see him in concert..
He's not my favorite either. I dislike that some seem to generalize country music and its fans as radical conservatives or republicans. OR even worse, that most young country music fans enjoy taylor swift. She's talented as hell but her music is too poppy. I think it sways too much from traditional country but that's just me.
If only people on the outside could see there's many sub genres within country music. T. Keith and the very patriotic, American life centric is one of them. A lot of my non-country music friends seem to stereotype me into this genre and tell me they don't like country music because they always sing about the same thing, their dog dying, fishing, being an American etc. To which I reply by shaking my head and telling them they also sing about beer. I've kinda given up trying to explain or make them understand. It's okay because I'll never understand why they adore todays rap and heep hop songs. Different strokes.
He must be pretty good live huh?
At least that song is different.. country gets bad press because it all sounds the same. Then this comes out and its too cheesy... The way I see it is I like country music because you can relate to most of it. And who can't relate to wanting to write a nonsense song about a nonsense item after a night of drinking...
Well first time I saw him was at SC and 2nd time I won tickets, but yeah, both were great I thought. I'm the same with many artists I didn't care for until I saw them live. Brad Paisley (gasp) is one. I absolutely LOVE him now (except for camoflouge, c'mon, sing something that doesn't sound like every other song you've ever written!).
Oh but we have to agree to disagree cuz I LOVE me some hip hop!
I totally get that. You're respect for them as an artist naturally goes up when you see a performer succeed to entertain in person.
Who are your favorite hip hop artists? I kinda went through a hip hop stage so I can't claim to be a true fan. Maybe I will always associate it with my "cool older brothers" music. Some of the beats I groove to definitely. I like when it gets more into electronica though. Lately I've been reeeally into indie/mainstream electronica. Which I never expected, really. Music is so great :)
Current artists I love Kanye (yeah, he's a DB but his music is genius lyrically), Jay-Z is very clever, Drake has some awesome metaphors (though I don't really like most of his songs, go figure), Diplomats, Cam'ron, and a bunch of others, and then I like your typical radio hip hop with good @ss shakin beats.
Older artists I love are 2Pac (amazing) and Biggie, and then your more thuggish rappers like Eazy-E, Too Short, etc.
