Kenny Chesney Tim McGraw - Anaheim 7/14/12
It looks like the "Brothers of the Sun" tour has only one stop in Cali and its Anaheim Stadium. They show pre-sale on every stop but this one. Does anyone have any info on this show? I see tickets from the "usual suspects" but thery are like $175 for nose bleeds... OUCH! I just dont trust it until its released formaly.
Tailgaiting and watching this show in Angel Stadium would be a great event.

I am in Tim's fan club and I've been waiting for the pre-sale info. Every other show has had a pre-sale already....but I do plan on going! Should be fun!!

So........... Who's down next month for a tailgate party and great show?
Im bringing the Whiskey Tango for sure and making a big ass low country boil. (shrimp, potatoes, corn, peppers, and a whole bunch more!) Tailgate party starting around 2pm for the 4:30 show.
Has anyone every tailgated at OCCU parking lot accross orangewood street? I heard that parking lot is WAAAAY more relaxed on drinking and tailgaiting. Im going to try it out next Friday for Angels vs Dodgers.

My mom and I will be there :) We're already starting to plan what we want to bring for decorations. We got some great ideas at the Dallas tailgate party last weekend! The parking lot opened at 10am in Texas and people partied well into the afternoon.

i heard there was no tailgating allowed at angels stadium. i'm not from the OC so i'm not too sure. did you find anything on the parking lot across the street?

Yes, The parking lot next door is great. We tailgated for Angels v Doyers and had a great time. No cops, no stress, no problems! Its private property, so no city police bother you at all. There was even trees for shade and vendors selling stuff. I asked about July 14th and they said they would open 3hrs before the show. So that would be about 1:30. We will try to get there around 1-1:30. I suggest people who want to tailgate go here! Only issue I saw was there were only two porta potties so people (mostly women) were lined up just before the game and then they were TRASHED after the game. So plan ahead for this issue. Entry to the parking lot is off Orangewood, and you can only turn (right) going easbound, so plan your drive accordingly.
Also, I saw lots of free street parking on S Towne Center Plaza and Rampart street. I would suggest driving through this street first and see if there is free parking and just walk into the tailgating area. I wouldnt suggest tailgating in the street because it is patrolled. Parking was only $10 anyway, but this is a freebie if your cheap like me!

Thanks for the info :) I was just looking at the calendar and noticed it's only a few weeks away! I've never tailgated in that lot so it's good to know it's an option. Kenny fans sure know how to throw a good tailgate party and I'm really looking forward to a local show with friends! It reminded me a lot of our Jimmy Buffett tailgate party. People go all out with the decor and it was so much fun to see.
Maybe we can figure out who is going and who is wanting to participate in the tailgate party. I'd love for us to be together and since the Orangewood lot was a success, that might be the best option. We can come up with a sign-up sheet for those that want to bring stuff and get a head count estimate. You're the king of tailgates so I know it will be awesome no matter what we do! Haha

Just a heads up. Theres posted 'No Parking' signs all along Rampart but USUALLY the cops don't write tickets. The way I figure, if I park there 20 times a year for games and events and only get 1 parking ticket then im ahead of the curve.... Good luck!

i'm going to this concert and would be down for tailgating!!! Sad thing is i have NEVER tailgated at a concert before......i have a friend who is going to the show with me and she would also be down for tailgating but idk how we're gonna work out the logistics of it because i'm coming from south OC and she is coming from Los Angeles.....
we are also looking into the logistics of taking Amtrak down there (or in my case, up there) and back so that we avoid spending much money on gas and then the added $$$ to park. I used to take Amtrak up to Cal State Fullerton every day for classes so i know that there is a station pick up/drop off point right there in the Stadium's parking lot. Right now i am thinking that's not gonna work though because i am NOT LEAVING THAT CONCERT until they turn the "house lights" on and the last train leaves there at 10:45 pm. I'd be SOL if the show went past 10:45 pm. As long as there is free parking at the Orangewood parking lot and that's where the tailgating action will be, then i'd probably just drive and park there....

Thanks for that tip... I dont want to be the one spreading bad info around... I didnt see any signs or people getting hassled on S Towne Center Plaza and other people told me it was OK in the surrounding streets so Im not 100% sure. I would take your word to be on the safe side.

Just give me an idea of who is coming on this thread and I can plan accordingly. I basically already have everything packed and ready to go in the WT from last week. Dont stress on bringing a bunch of stuff. Just your own drinks or a few bucks for the tip jar. Im gunna make a big shrimp boil and a few trays of chicken enchiladas. Other people can bring the little stuff like chips and dips. Also suggest anyone bring their own pinnapple and I will holllow it out for you and fill it with a drink of your choice.
