Lesbian power!
I was very happy to see that yesterday.
So far she is the only opening act I have ever seen at a concert that was forced by the audience to come out and do an encore.
worst choice ever!! who ever booked her should be fired!
Can we get Uncle Kracker there? That would be awesome as hell!

K.D. Lang is an awesome singer - just forgot she started out in country oopssssss!! Perhaps she'll be on a small stage like they did Dwight Yoakum - travesty!!!!
Stagecoach performer k.d. lang keeps it real

k.d. lang was the one of last and perhaps least-likely artists to be added to the Stagecoach lineup.
The Canadian-born, Los Angeles- based singer will be sharing a bill next weekend with mainstream country acts such as Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
Through the years, lang has been an advocate for causes that represent her personal convictions.
“I'm a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner, so Tibet is something near and dear to my heart. I came out at the height of the AIDS crisis, so I felt I needed to talk about it. I just try to speak passionately about things I'm involved in and moved by.”
That includes music, of course.
“We're in a period where society seems very attracted to flash, and that seeps into people's musical taste,” lang says.
“At the same time, when you have Arcade Fire winning best album at the Grammys, something good is happening. Radio is dying, but music is vibrant, wherever people are listening to it. I think it's never been healthier.”
When lang began work on her new album, she conceived a “manifesto” for herself and her collaborating musicians. “Right off the bat, I said, ‘I want these songs to be very real, very soulful, and always, always positive and joyful,'” says lang, 49. “I wanted to write songs that would play themselves on stage, songs that sweep you through their current.”
The result, “Sing It Loud,” is a collection that nods to lang's alt-country roots while reinforcing her reputation as a singer of genre-defying dexterity and beauty. It's also her first album made with a band that she formed — k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang — since the early '80s, when she recorded with the Reclines. The group is slated to perform with lang next weekend at Stagecoach.
“We recorded eight songs in just three days, and after that it was obvious that this wasn't just my album,” lang says.
A friend suggested the group name, which struck lang as appropriate, “since we had recorded around July 4th.”
One key member of the Siss Boom Bang gang is multi-instrumentalist Joe Pisapia, who co-produced “Sing It Loud” and co-wrote many of its songs with lang. “We met through a mutual friend, and there was this instant chemistry,” lang recalls. “I told my girlfriend, ‘I'm going to Nashville to write with this guy,' and she was like, ‘What?' I'm normally very habitual, but there was something about Joe that I'd jump off a cliff for.”
Lang, who came out as a lesbian in the early '90s, describes her home life as blissfully domestic. “I love cleaning and doing laundry, love to cook, love taking care of the dogs. There are days when I hardly leave the house.”
But she also relishes her time on the road. “I like the sort of tunnel vision that you get — having to get through the day, all the travel, and then getting up for the show, which is the reward. It always rejuvenates me.”
Lang notes that live performance has been central to sustaining her career. She'll return to the desert in October for a show at the McCallum Theatre.
Accounting for lang's longevity, Rolling Stone contributing editor Alan Light acknowledges that her choices “have been very smart.”
But, he adds, “you start with the power of her singing. Hers is a voice that can persevere through different trends. And she has a strong identity and personality that distinguish her.”
and I so agree with you FestivalRides and yepppp gaypalmsprings she does have an awesome voice!!!
OK, gonna get blasted, I ain't no hater.... but really , KD lang.... come on. This is NOT a music festival..... it is a country music festival..... Gonna get blasted again, but was NOT a fan of the Kid Rock appearance.... now, again, Kid Rock is way energetic, the crowd was fired up, there was ton's of energy.... but it was a different crowd for sure. That was the year Stagecoach went NAKED... hahaha, that was the first year I remember the "little girlies" started wearing their bikini's all day long... damn, I had to go out and get me a new pair of sunglasses (you know, the really DARK ones)... hahaha, the crowd that day was for sure different than past events... It was the first time people actually took our chairs and moved them around and squeezing in where people had been camped all day long. Now, I like the one "cross over song" he does, but the rest of it was more his style which aint what you go to Stagecoach for....
Again, part II ---- the EAGLES year.... damn what the hell. Add an extra night (gee, see how that worked out for Goldenvoice huh).... now don't get me wrong... I really enjoy the Eagles music, but it AIN'T country.... and the fact that friggin KFROG and GoCountry are still friggin playin the Eagles when they NEVER played it before on their playlists, come on now. Although I am sure it is because the songs are requested, yah whatever..... I get diversity of styles, some old school some new school.... but what the HELL......
OK ----- I am now petitioning for BON JOVI at next years stagecoach.... damn, you bring in the Eagles, you bring in KD Lang.... damn bring in Richie and Jon, now that I would pay EXTRA for.... at least he did a Country Song with Jennifer Nettles that .... (yah I know the Kid Rock song... don't get me started on that - hahahaha)
OK, so I am bored and really really want this work week to be over so I can have a cold one in my hand in the wonderful city of Indio....
BON JOVI only if he let's Jennifer perform with hime !!! LOVE Sugarland!! The Eagles were awesome and KD Lang will be too - bet you'll enjoy it!!! ~smile~ PS KD Lang rather started country and sorta/kinda has branched way out !!!
Oh heck face it I wouldn't mind looking at Jon for a while ~smile~
Yepppp ready for work week to end.......tried to change schedule but boss pooh poohed that one - grrrrrr gotta work Thursday night as well .......ha ha wanted to sleep to be in good shape for party Friday night when we get there - weeeeee
