I'm driving the RV from Escondido, leaving around 1...not sure if you're looking to hitch a ride, or caravan...I-8 is the longest route for me, but I'm open to going through Anza--I like that drive, or the 215...my RV is small so I can go thru Anza at 60mph...haha...not sure when the gals want me in Indio, so not sure how late I can wait...I'm coming home Mon, so if you're looking to hitch a ride--you're hoteling right?...as long as it's Indio or around there, I'm happy to work it out...I used to drive professionally, have over 1 million miles safe driving, so you're safe.
Except, I BLAST ROCK when I drive the RV.

Keep me in mind - that's my ideal time frame, too. I am renting a car for the drive (my 1997 GMC Jimmy with 150K miles on it doesn't leave San Diego County....)
I won't know exact times until probably SC week, but PM me if you want contact info...
Re: Coming from San Diego...
Updating....looks like we'll be leaving Lemon Grove at about 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
Hoteling it in Palm Springs (Travelodge Palm Springs, 333 E Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, California 92264).
Because of school concerns for my boy (State STAR testing starts on Tuesday, 4/28...school on Monday is almost mandatory!) we will be leaving Palm Springs EARLY Monday morning (like the ungodly hour of 5:30 a.m.)....
If you're interested in carpooling, please PM me :)

UF thats an ugly hour to leave. im prob leaving at like 8 or 9 on monday and ii thought that was early.
Re: Coming from San Diego...
The only reason that ugly hour is even possible is that I know I have the whole day to SLEEP once I drop him off at school....
He can sleep in the car during the drive - I'll be main-lining COFFEE!!!
Re: Coming from San Diego...
i'll be driving straight back to LA after SC on sunday (gotta get back home to take care of my grandma)...i'll be main-lining that coffee as well! gonna be a long night! but soooooo worth it!
Re: Coming from San Diego...
i just hope im sober enough by 8 or 9 so i can drive home hahah

Give yourself enough time to drive back before school starts! You'll be at the mercy of monday morning traffic. 5:30 might not be early enough.
Re: Coming from San Diego...
thus me leavinng at 9, hopefully after traffico!
Re: Coming from San Diego...
I'll be leaving when I get around to it. I took the day off work, and her out of school. Actually, we're in the same city but different school districts so I don't think it's an issue for her, but I wouldn't care if it was. Piffle on the Star testing.
Re: Coming from San Diego...
tgcali - I like your attitude....
My boy is a good student - we may just "miss" school on that Monday - in spite of the very intimidating Principal's warning ;)

whats gonna happen?? kid misses star testing, public schools loose a little bit more money, government fails again and people finally realize how we should privatize the school system as well as everything else besides defense.
...wow you should have you kid skip more often

The principal doesn't tell you what to do anymore. Don't let them intimidate you. She missed a day of Star testing one year because she had an ear infection. I was in a tizzy, school told me it was no big deal.
So, don't sweat the small stuff. What kind of a nightmare is it going to be on Monday morning trying to rush to get back? You don't want to end a fabulous weekend with that. What shape/mood will he be in to take the tests? What's going to matter in twenty years, the memories of his first music festival, or his attendance for testing on one day?
It's not going to adversely affect him in any way, so......piffle on the Principal.:p:D
